NCDC South-South Rep, Rachel Nse, congratulates Akwa Ibom on 38th anniversary

Honourable Rachel Nse, the South-South representative on the board of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), has congratulated Akwa Ibom State on the 38th anniversary of its creation.
Addressing journalists Tuesday, Hon. Nse stated that the State has come a long way since 1987 and has made “commendable progress” in infrastructure and human capital development under successive administrations.
“At 38, Akwa Ibom State has undoubtedly made commendable progress in infrastructure, human capital development, and socio-economic growth. From improved road networks to strides in education and healthcare, successive administrations have contributed to shaping the state into a destination of pride,” she stated.
However, Nse, urged Akwa Ibom people to strive for more collective successes.
“However, while celebrating these achievements, it is also important to reflect on the need for inclusive governance, sustainable development, and policies that prioritize the welfare of every Akwa Ibomite,” she stated.
She specifically outlined the path forward, stressing the need to leverage the state’s natural and human resources to tackle unemployment and solidify its status among Nigeria’s leading states.
“The next phase of our journey should focus on harnessing our abundant human and natural resources to create more opportunities, reduce unemployment, and strengthen our position as a leading state in Nigeria.”
Akwa Ibom State was created on September 23, 1987, during the military junta of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.
