NCS honored as best corporate Spokesperson team at National awards

Abuja, Nigeria – April 17, 2025- The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) proudly claimed the title of Best Corporate Spokesperson Team at the 5th National Spokespersons Awards 2025.
This esteemed event took place on April 15 at the Ladi Kwali Conference Centre within the Abuja Continental Hotel. It concluded a two-day summit dedicated to enhancing public communication excellence.
The ceremony also attracted a distinguished assembly of past and present Ministers of Information. Among them were notable figures like Frank Nweke Jr., Lai Mohammed, Jerry Gana, and Labaran Maku.

Additionally, the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, attended the event. His presence underscored the awards’ importance in promoting superior public discourse across the nation.
Throughout the summit, influential leaders such as former Ogun State Governor Chief Segun Osoba inspired thought-provoking discussions. Additionally, tax reform expert Prof. Taiwo Oyedele enriched the overall experience for all participants.
Additionally, media luminaries such as Prof. Tonnie Iredia and Dr. Nkechi Ali-Balogun shared invaluable insights on strategic communication.
The evening ceremony commenced at 7:40 p.m., featuring a vibrant red carpet reception. Following this, attendees networked before the main awards presentation began.
Abdullahi Maiwada, the NCS National Public Relations Officer, graciously accepted the honor on behalf of the Comptroller-General of Customs.
He warmly acknowledged the teamwork that contributed to this achievement. He stated, “This award reflects the dedication of our entire PR unit.”
Furthermore, Maiwada emphasized the NCS’s commitment to transparency and stakeholder engagement, which earned them recognition at the previous year’s awards.
“By consistently raising the bar, we reinforce trust through accurate and impactful communication,” he added.
The event, themed “Voice of Influence, Champions of Change,” also celebrated other top-performing institutions. This celebration underscored the vital role of public relations in the public sector.
Organized by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the summit featured impactful addresses. Notably, President Ike Neliaku and Honourable Joshua Audi Gana spoke during the event.
As the night concluded, the NCS reaffirmed its pledge to excellence in public communication and fostering lasting stakeholder relationships.
