Uyo, Akwa Ibom State – April 24, 2025 – The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has actively enhanced flood preparedness in Akwa Ibom State.
Recently, officials visited the Emergency Communication Centre (ECC) in Uyo to improve disaster response strategies.
Mrs. Mmandu Aisueni, Head of Operations at NEMA Uyo, led the team to strengthen information sharing and public education on 2025 flood risks.
Given the Seasonal Climate Prediction (SCP) and Annual Flood Outlook (AFO) forecasts, NEMA prioritized collaboration with the ECC.
Together, they aim to raise awareness and ensure residents are well-prepared for emergencies.

Upon arrival, Mrs. Aisueni and her team received a warm welcome from Mrs. Idara Nelson, ECC Centre Manager.
