Nigerian Designer Ezeh Breaks World Record with 51-Metre Sleeves

A young Nigerian fashion designer, Samuel Chinecherem Ezeh, has entered the record books after creating a garment with the world’s longest sleeves, measuring an extraordinary 51.20 metres (167.97 ft).

The 27-year-old, who combines his tailoring craft with studies at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, stitched the robe himself, pushing creative boundaries in a feat that has drawn international attention.

To put the scale in perspective, Ezeh’s record-breaking sleeves are longer than the Statue of Liberty’s height (46.5 m) and stretch beyond an Olympic-size swimming pool (50 m).

Speaking on his achievement, the designer expressed a strong desire to showcase the robe across borders:

“I wish to take it on a tour to display it in different countries and cities to show the world what it looks like,” Ezeh said.

Despite challenges in bringing the design to life, the garment has become a symbol of resilience, ambition, and Nigeria’s growing presence in the global fashion scene.
