Njikoka LGA Emerges Champions Of 2025 Anambra School Sports Competition

The Anambra Sports Solution Initiative (ANSSI) for primary and secondary schools Competition 2025 came to an exciting end on Friday 27th June at the Awka Township Stadium.
Njikoka Local Government Area were the overall champions with 18 gold medals, 14 silver and 8 bronze while Awka South came second and Onitsha South Local Government Area clinched the third position.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo while addressing the cheering crowd said his administration was intentional in evolving a virile sports economic while expressing hope that the young lady would rise to become future national and international champions.
Soludo noted that sports economy is real because it is keeping the youths busy , productive and providing livelihood. He described their performances as promising and futuristic.
“So far, Anambra has been doing great, frrom 15th in national youth games to 8th position, we will not stop until we start to take 1st. Congratulations to all of you and our champions”
“For the boys that played played the final football match, I enjoyed your game because you played like pros,” Soludo said.
In his remark, Chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Inno-Posh Chikezie commended Soludo for his consistency to youth development through sports.
Chikezie also congratulated Patrick-Estate Onyedum, Chairman of the Sports Commission for successful organisation of the third edition of ANSSI and called on the state to nurture the new athletes and players to maturity expressing hope that they would rule the world in no distant time.
The Commissioner for Education. Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh while speaking, underscored the importance of sports Competition especially in the discovery of raw talents.
Chuma-Udeh encouraged all schools across the state to always participate and sponsor their wards during the annual competition as it contributes to developing their brain.
The Chairman Anambra State Sports Development Commission, Patrick Onyedum while presenting the awards and medals to some of the athletes, commended their doggedness and enthusiasm to contribute towards the overall growth of the sports sector
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that the school sports festival which started in the month of Match saw the discovery of promising athletes and prayers across the 21 local government areas of Anambra state.
