Nonye Soludo Gives Ekwunife 72-Hour Ultimatum, Demands Apology, DNA Test

The political atmosphere in Anambra heated up on Saturday as Soludo’s wife challenges Ekwunife to a public oath and DNA test.
Dr. Nonye Soludo, wife of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, reacted strongly to what she described as “malicious allegations” from Senator Uche Ekwunife, the deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 8 election.
In a statement, she accused Ekwunife of spreading falsehoods about her family and issued a 72-hour ultimatum.
She warned that legal action would follow if the senator refused to withdraw her claims and apologise.
Nonye Soludo also challenged Ekwunife to take a public oath in a Catholic cathedral and undergo DNA tests. According to her, these steps would clear doubts raised during the heated campaign.
She said, “I have never worked for anyone in my life. I have been an entrepreneur all my adult life. I never met the late Governor Chinwoke Mbadinuju. In my 55 years, I have known only one man Chukwuma Soludo.”
The First Lady went further, daring Ekwunife to join her in swearing an oath of fidelity and chastity before the Blessed Sacrament. She also insisted that both families should undergo DNA tests in three reputable London hospitals.
“I will pay for the travel and hospital costs. If the results confirm your husband is the father of your children, I will congratulate you with a cash award. My family is ready for the test at any time,” she declared.
This confrontation followed a viral video where Ekwunife linked the Soludos to the administration of the late Governor Mbadinuju. Ekwunife was also facing questions over her own academic qualifications.
The development has further deepened tension in the Anambra governorship campaign, where personal attacks and family matters have become a recurring theme between the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the APC.
Reacting to Soludo’s statement, Senator Ekwunife dismissed the challenge. She said her remarks were only “friendly advice” and insisted she was not involved in the family’s private matters.
Ekwunife said, “Mrs. Soludo does not owe me any explanation about her personal life. If she feels discomfort, she owes her husband an explanation, not me. I am not part of her family affairs.”
She maintained that her focus remained on rescuing Anambra from misrule and contributing positively to the state.
The exchange has set the stage for a bitter campaign season in Anambra, with voters watching closely as the contest between the APC and APGA grows more personal and controversial
