OBI-dient movement strengthens unity, strategy in Ekiti ahead of 2027 elections

April 16, 2025 – Ado Ekiti, Nigeria- The Ekiti Chapter of the OBI-dient Movement took a decisive step toward 2027 election preparations by holding a crucial meeting on April 15, 2025.

Significantly, Hon. Seyi Showumi, Chairman of the South West OBI-dient Movement and House of Representatives member for Ojo Federal Constituency, Lagos, attended the gathering.

The event aimed to consolidate support for Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate, while fostering unity among diverse support groups.

Moreover, it served as a prelude to the upcoming South West OBI-dient conference scheduled for April 26 in Lagos.

Upon arrival, Hon. Showumi received a warm welcome from Mr. Emmanuel Oladotun, Acting State Coordinator, alongside leaders from key groups like COPDEM, CSF, and OHF.

Immediately, Comrade Oladotun expressed gratitude for Showumi’s visit, stating it reinvigorated members’ morale.

He reiterated the movement’s determination to rescue Nigeria from poor governance, emphasizing Ekiti’s readiness to lead national transformation.

Consequently, he proposed a five-point agenda to strengthen the movement’s framework in the state.

Specifically, Oladotun advocated for a physical office, unified membership cards, and equal representation across senatorial districts.

Additionally, he called for solidarity among support groups, declaring, “What goes for one, goes for all.”

Furthermore, he highlighted the need for a stronger media presence to amplify their message.

In response, Comrade Morris, National Mobilization Director, assured attendees that the national body was already working on state offices and membership cards.

He also revealed plans for media expansion across all 36 states and the FCT.

Meanwhile, Oloye Adegboyega Adeniji urged members to prioritize national unity over ethnic divisions.

He stressed that competent leadership was essential to reshape Nigeria’s future.

Similarly, Hon. Showumi encouraged grassroots participation in leadership selection, promising no imposition of candidates.

He invited nominations for district representatives, vowing to follow up diligently.

Ultimately, attendees pledged unwavering commitment to the movement’s success, praising Showumi’s visionary leadership.

As the Lagos conference approaches, the OBI-dient Movement remains focused on mobilizing support and fostering cohesion.
