Anambra State government has raided and sealed a factory allegedly producing counterfeit disinfectants in Obosi.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA, Brigade during the raid, officers discovered a stock of unregistered chemicals, packaging materials, and products being packaged for sale without license and NAFDAC numbers to unsuspecting consumers.
The Managing Director of OCHA Brigade, Comrade Celestine Anere while speaking to newsmen, revealed that the operation uncovered thousands of counterfeited disinfectants in liquid form and medicated and antiseptic soaps, including popular brands which are harmful to the body and health, warning that the state government has zero tolerance for illegality of all kinds.
Some of the tenants interviewed in the compound said the producer, who is their neighbour, hardly associates with anyone and hides all the practices from them.
