While David Ornstein has already confirmed the budget is in place for Manchester United to buy some of the players they need without facilitating sales beforehand, funds will still need to be raised throughout the summer to replenish the transfer kitty.
For example, it’s thought the Red Devils can easily welcome both Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap at the beginning of the window, despite the pair costing a combined £92.5 million through their release clauses.
One link that’s particularly gaining traction over in Italy is United’s interest in Ederson of Atalanta; they sent their scout to watch the midfielder in action during last week’s clash with AC Milan, during which he scored the only goal of the game and earned the highest Sofascore rating of any player on the pitch.
So, what does it mean for those who could be sacrificed?
Six Reds welcome to pursue other opportunities this summer

According to Ornstein, there are six Reds whose sales have been deemed ‘plausible’ at the end of the season – three being more predictable than the others, as loanees Antony, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford are unlikely to return to Old Trafford when their respective spells come to an end.
Elsewhere, though, Casemiro, Tyrell Malacia and Rasmus Hojlund, all of whom were signed by Erik ten Hag, could see their United tenures cut short prior to their contracts expiring.
Casemiro and Malacia are both tied to the club until 2026, having joined in Ten Hag’s maiden transfer window, while Hojlund has three years remaining on his terms, plus the option of an additional season. Even if Delap makes the move from Ipswich Town, Hojlund would still need to be replaced sufficiently, as one injury would leave Ruben Amorim far too short of forward options.
