Osisioma Foundation have not endorsed any candidate for Anambra 2025 – Dr Obidigbo

The President of Osisioma Foundation and 2017 Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Chike Obidigbo has affirmed that the foundation has not endorsed any candidate for the November 8, 2025 Anambra Governorship election in the state.

The Foundation is the political wing of Osisioma Campaign Organization used by Obidigbo to campaign during his contesting for the governorship of Anambra State.

When he lost that election, Obidigbo had the option of closing the foundation but all the critical stakeholders wanted its continuity on the grounds that whatever was lost will be beneficial to those coming behind them.

But at this engagement in Awkuzu, Dr Obidigbo said the foundation still boast of structure in each of the 326 wards in the state, hence a bride for any political suitor because of its spread and capacity.

“As you can see, everybody is of the opinion that we should continue from where we stopped so that it can help us to select who the next governor of Anambra State would be and that the person should be somebody that can attend to the needs of Anambra State as a whole.

“So whoever we are going to support has the opportunity of doing well better than the others. For now, we have not decided on who its going to be, but be rest assured that anybody we pick, shall have the best interest of Anambra people at heart.

“Meanwhile, some of the contestants are coming to meet us and dialogue with us but at the end of the day, we are going to take a decision on who to support”, said the foremost industrialist.

On security situation in the state, Obidigbo described it as very terrible, regretting that the economy of the state is dwindling because of increase in insecurity

“The most important function of any government is to guarantee security of lives and property of the people. In the absence of security, there is no governance but anarchy. Construction of roads, hospital among others are secondary though important but are not primary.

“Recently in Anambra State, we have lost it. I have written to Soludo to salvage the deteriorating situation and secure the lives of Ndi Anambra. Without security, the essential thing which is growth and development of economy will not take effect. Without good economy, you cannot secure anything. We use job creation to fight insecurity.

“I have asked Governor Soludo that since you became the governor, how many jobs have you created for the people of the state? If you ask me, I will say zero because the is no concerted efforts to create jobs.”

Also speaking, Sir Ralph Emeka Nwike, Director-General Osisioma Foundation and former President-General Oraifite Improvement Union said the aim of the foundation is to produce the next governor.

“For this state to grow, people must stand on their feet. Osisioma Foundation has come a long way since 2012. Our dream was that Osisioma will be the governor of this state, and was the first opportunity Anambra people missed. We went as far as going to the supreme court. Eventually, that mandate was crushed. Dr Obidigbo has nurtured this foundation for 13 years.

“So our decision today is that we are going to stand on our feet as a pressure group to make us relevant in the political scheme of the state. Whoever is coming to become governor of the state ought to identify with Osisioma Foundation.

“We are more than 5000, with structure greater than you can think of any political party. We want to be absolutely independent but still a solid foundation. Membership span from every sphere of life (doctors, engineers, lawyers etc)”, so affirmed Sir Nwike, current Chairman, Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria, Anambra State Chapter.
