Outrage in Ondo as Fulani herdsmen kill 8 farmers, residents stage protest

Residents of Ondo State have taken to the streets to protest against the activities of Fulani herdsmen following the killing of eight farmers.

A viral post on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, shows protesters holding leaves, while some went shirtless as they voiced their grievances against the attacks.

A young man in the video lamented the hardships faced by farmers, stating that despite investing heavily in their farmlands, herdsmen continue to invade, destroy crops, kidnap, kill, and even assault their wives.

“Joy no dey. We go borrow money finish spend for farm, Fulani go come kill us join. Shey we no go chop? You take our life, rape our wife,” he said.

Another protester could be heard confirming that eight people had been killed recently in the state.

As footage of the protest circulates online, concerned individuals have taken to the comment section to express their outrage and demand urgent action.
