Over 60 Killed in Boko Haram Attack on Resettled Borno Village

A deadly overnight assault by Boko Haram militants on the village of Darul Jamal in Borno State has reportedly claimed the lives of at least 60 civilians, with more than 100 people displaced.

The attack struck fear into the hearts of displaced residents who had recently returned as part of government resettlement efforts. The militants set homes ablaze and moved from house to house, according to local officials, prompting immediate flight among survivors.

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, who visited the ravaged community, confirmed the death toll and called on residents to remain in place, assuring them of increased security measures and humanitarian assistance.

Security experts suggest the militants may have targeted locals suspected of collaborating with the rival faction ISWAP—underscoring the continued threat to civilians despite renewed military campaigns.
