Paramount Skydance to Slash Up to 3,000 Jobs Following Merger

Paramount Skydance, the newly formed entity resulting from Paramount Global’s merger with Skydance Media, is preparing to lay off between 2,000 and 3,000 employees by early November, according to a report by Variety reviewed by Reuters.
The merger, valued at $8.4 billion, was completed earlier this month and aims to consolidate operations under the Paramount Skydance Corp name.
Paramount Skydance has not issued any comments regarding the planned job cuts. As of December 2024, the combined workforce included nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees, along with 3,500 project-based staff, underscoring the significant scale of the impending restructuring.
