PDP announces Edo State caretaker committee appointment

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially appointed a Caretaker Committee to manage the party’s affairs in Edo State.

Acting on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC), the NWC made this decision in accordance with Section 29(2)(b) of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended).

The committee’s primary role is to ensure smooth operations and uphold party stability.

The newly appointed members include Dr. Tony Aziegbemi as Chairman and Hon. Henry Duke Tenebe as Secretary.

Other members are Hon. Harrison Omagbon, Hon. Fidel Igenegbale, Hon. Chris Nehikhare, Tony Anenih Jnr., Arch. Bishop Anthony Okosun, Hon. Segun Saiki, Adezat Kuburat Ibrahim, and Augustine Edosomwan.

Each member brings valuable experience to strengthen the party’s leadership during this transitional period.

According to Section 21(2)(a-b) of the PDP Constitution, the committee will serve for a maximum of three months.

Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the National Publicity Secretary, emphasized the need for unity among Edo State party members.

He urged full cooperation with the committee to ensure the party’s continued success and electoral dominance in the state.

Additionally, the PDP has formally notified the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and the media about the committee’s composition.

The party expects all stakeholders to recognize Dr. Tony Aziegbemi’s leadership and engage accordingly.

This step ensures transparency and proper coordination in all party-related activities.

The PDP reaffirms its commitment to unity, progress, and effective leadership at all levels.

By appointing this committee, the party demonstrates its dedication to resolving internal matters swiftly and maintaining a strong presence in Edo State.

The NWC remains confident that the new team will uphold the party’s values and drive its success forward.
