PDP Remains United, those Joining Coalition will Run Back – Damagum

The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Damagum has said that the party remains united.

Damagum’s remark comes after the massive defections rocking the opposition party following the declaration of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the coalition party for the 2027 election.

Recall that several key members of the PDP including a former Senate President David Mark had resigned to assume roles at the ADC.

However, reacting to this, Damagum said that disciplinary action would be taken against party members who engage in anti-party activities.

He also stated that the PDP leadership is watching and paying attention to the happenings surrounding the trending coalition moves.

Speaking at a press brieing in Abuja on Wednesday, Damagum said, “To those that are contemplating, they should not, they have no place and there’s nowhere that will be as accommodating as our party. But if they feel there are, I will wish them good luck. But I know they will run back.

“I want to re-emphasise that if you are a member of the People’s Democratic Party, we are drawing a line for those who go to demarket the party. We are watching them and we will take appropriate actions at the right time.”
