People want to mock IBB that he is in wheelchair, these are vestiges of civil war he fought -Afegbua

Kassim Afegbua, former spokesperson for General Ibrahim Babangida (IBB), has stated that some people try to mock Babangida for being in a wheelchair, but he believes this is unfair. He said Babangida’s condition is a result of injuries he suffered during the Nigerian Civil War while fighting to keep the country united.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Plus TV Africa, Afegbua said that for those who participated in the war, the pain they endured makes them hope for a united Nigeria. He said they want to see the country remain as one, so their sacrifices during the war would have meaning.
In Afegbua’s words: “Some people want to derisively mock IBB and say that he is in a wheelchair, no. These are vestiges of the civil war that a man suffered and laboured to keep the country one. And for those of them who fought in that war as painful as it is, they want to see a united Nigeria so that there could be a justification for that war”
