Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly revived their interest in Marcus Rashford just days before he’ll line up against the French giants in an Aston Villa shirt.

Indeed, the Manchester United loanee is preparing for two of the most pivotal fixtures of his career in recent years, having reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League with Villa.

The Midlands outfit will lock horns with PSG, who are arguably the favourites to win the competition for the first-ever time after establishing their dominance with two stellar displays against Liverpool in the last-16.

Whether Rashford will be deployed from the off remains to be seen, as Unai Emery has a host of prolific attacking depth at his disposal heading into the two-legged tie; the first taking place at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday evening.

Villa comfortably booked their spot in the last-eight by cruising to a 6-1 aggregate win over Club Brugge. Rashford started in both matches and assisted in the second leg.

Elsewhere, the 27-year-old scored a brace in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup and once in the Premier League against Brighton and Hove Albion. He is enjoying a revitalised run of form, which may persuade Villa to activate his £40 million buy clause come the end of his loan spell.

That’s unless he has other options to mull over, though. L’Equipe – cited by GFFN – has today claimed there is ‘renewed contact’ between Rashford and PSG chief Luis Campos.

The reigning Ligue 1 champions, who’ve just secured another league title without losing a single game, notoriously failed in their pursuit of the Carrington graduate back in 2022, whereby they offered him a whopping £400,000 per week to swap his home comforts at Old Trafford to make the move to the French capital.

Rashford rebuffed the lucrative proposal and instead committed his future to his boyhood club. He then oversaw a career-best, 30-goal campaign in 2022/2023 and was subsequently rewarded by United with a five-year deal worth a reported £350,000 per week.

Luis Enrique wants PSG’s key decision-makers and scouts to enter the market for forward reinforcements when the window opens, with Rashford seemingly deemed an ideal option.
