PSG still keen to sign Man Utd outcast Marcus Rashford

There could be good news for Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim, as Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly planning a new onslaught for Marcus Rashford.

The two men were at odds with one another during their short time together at Carrington. The Portuguese tactician initially relied on the attacker as a regular starter, before suddenly dropping him from the squad in mid-December ahead of the Manchester Derby.

Rashford never made another appearance for his childhood club, as after more than 45 days of exile, he ended up joining Aston Villa on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season set at £40 million.

Despite the Englishman’s positive start to life in Birmingham, his future remains shrouded in mystery, as the Villains could be reluctant to splash this relatively large sum on one player, especially if they don’t secure a second Champions League qualification in a row.

This could spell trouble for the Red Devils, as the 27-year-old won’t be a welcome figure at Carrington as long as Amorim reigns supreme.

But according to L’Equippe (via TeamTalk), Man Utd could find themselves a new ally on this front in the shape of PSG.

The Ligue 1 champions, who have beaten Rashford’s Aston Villa in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final, have reportedly revived their contacts with the England international.

The Parisians were one of several clubs that probed for the United Academy product, but eventually signed Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli for £68 million.

The Georgian has proven to be an instant hit at the Parc des Princes, but as the source explains, Luis Enrique would still like to have another explosive forward in his ranks for next season.

It should be noted that PSG’s attacking department is already brimming with talent, as it also includes the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola, Goncalo Ramos, and the latest breakout star, Desire Doue, who has been monitored by Man Utd.
