Real Estate Mogul Legally Acquired Land From Rightful Owners : Igwe Urum Clarifies

The traditional ruler of Urum Community in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Igwe Nweke said land developer and real estate mogul, High Chief Okechukwu Kingsley Chukwueme (Nwaguatahihia ) Properties, bought the Ochiokwa land from the rightful owners, contrary to speculations.

Igwe Nweke will speaking to newsmen in his Palace on Tuesday said Nwaguatahihia an American based estate developer bought the land because he is keying into the think home philosophy agenda of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
” When i spoke with Nwagu, i asked him if he is ready to develop the piece of land, he said yes. I told him to go ahead.
” Urum PG, Sir Felix Godwin is trying to cause trouble. There were rumors that the land was sold to Nwagu by Igwe.
” I invited the PG and other stakeholders, and Nwagu made it clear that he didn’t buy the land from me, the traditional ruler. He disclosed the identity of the family he bought the land. They owners of the land admitted that they sold the property.

” As the traditional ruler of Urum, i can’t stop the owners of the land of selling it because its their property”. The traditional ruler maintained

Chief Chukwueme while reacting to the allegations surrounding a contentious
Ochiokwa land deal in Urum, asserted that his acquisition followed all legal and traditional protocols. He categorically denied speculations that the purchase was irregular or unauthorized.
Nwaguatahihia explained that five indigenes of the community, who are the rightful owners of the land, unanimously sold it to him. He further noted that the traditional rulers of the community were present as witnesses during the transaction.
“The land was properly documented, and due process was meticulously followed. The relevant signatories have been obtained, and the process of securing the Certificate of Occupancy is well underway,” Nwaguatahihia stated.
Nwaguatahihia expressed disappointment over accusations from the President General (PG) of Urum, who he claimed was recently elected and allegedly attempting to tarnish his reputation for personal financial gains.
“This is purely a case of someone trying to malign my name because I refused to meet his financial demands. It’s unfortunate,” Nwaguatahihia lamented.
The developer also highlighted concerns about the negative impact such disputes could have on investment in the area. He emphasized that while the Anambra State Governor has been urging citizens to invest back home, some individuals are allegedly working to undermine those efforts for selfish reasons.
“I am committed to contributing to the development of this community, but distractions like this are counterproductive,” he added.

from Aketem Village in Urum from Iru-Okpala kindred while speaking on the land said after negotiations with Nwagu, the deal was done.

“Nwagu has the complete documentation of the land and the claims by the PG that the piece of land belongs to the community is false. Its surprising that a family land that is upto one thousand plots, suddenly belongs to the community”. They said
