Rivers crisis: Fubara paid me a visit with 2 govs – Wike

Mr. Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has acknowledged that the suspended governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, paid him a visit, accompanied by two other governors.

Wike, who served as the immediate past governor of the State, made the revelation during a media interaction with selected newsmen in Abuja on Monday.

This is coming amid widespread speculation about efforts to mend political bad blood in the oil-rich state.

“Yes, he visited,” Wike confirmed, referring to the meeting with Fubara and the two other state governors.

Meanwhile, the visit is being interpreted by many as a potential step toward reconciliation, given the ongoing crisis that has gripped Rivers State politics in recent months.
