Rivers Crisis: I Will Leave, But The Good Work That I Have Done Will Speak and Defend Me – Fubara

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing the welfare of the state over personal interests, stating that his work will speak for him even after he leaves office.
The governor made this statement during the inauguration of the newly constructed Judges’ Quarters in Old GRA, Port Harcourt, an event captured in a video posted by TVC News.
Speaking at the event, Governor Fubara addressed the ongoing political crisis in the state, as well as the recent Supreme Court ruling. He assured the public that his administration remains focused on delivering good governance, despite the challenges.
The governor emphasized his dedication to ensuring that Rivers State remains peaceful and that government projects are completed, regardless of political tensions.
He reiterated that his leadership is not about seeking personal gains but about making decisions that benefit the people.
In his words; “I want to say it here very loud and clear to everyone: the Supreme Court has given a judgment, and my administration is going to implement the judgment to its fullest. The reason is clear – it is not about me; it’s about the good of this state. Thank God for where we are today. I can assure you publicly that, any day, any time, I have not gone back on my statement. Nothing is too big to pay for peace in this state because, at the end of the day, it is about our people. It is not about me. I will leave, but the good work that I have done will speak and will defend my generation.”
