Rivers: What has he done? This is a man that has barely touched their allocation from FG-Opunabo Inko-Taria

Rivers: What has he done? This is a man that has barely touched their allocation from FG-Opunabo Inko-Taria

Inko-Taria spoke directly about recent administrative rulings pertaining to the state, clearly frustrated. “When the governor was elected democratically, you ceased allocation. He pointed out what he sees as a problematic change in governance approach when he said, “Now, you brought in a sole administrator.”

The former aide went on to list what he views as conflicting official accounts of the state’s situation. “You stated that the state was unstable first and foremost. “The administrator arrived in Rivers State, and at the airport, he stated that the state appears to be peaceful,” Inko-Taria noted, implying a discrepancy between the descriptions provided by the federal government and the actual situation on the ground.

He went on to address the country’s leadership directly, saying, “I’m speaking with the president right now. You called the governor a dictator and claimed that he destroyed the House of Assembly. The administrator went there and stated that the assembly was nearly 80% finished. Thus, you can see the paradox and contradiction.

Inko-Taria was not shy about giving these discrepancies reasons. He claimed, “But just because they’re acting out a script written by the FCT Minister, Wike, and that is why they are trying to vilify the governor,” hinting at political intrigues underlying the administrative choices.

He used rhetoric to defend the governor’s performance, asking, “What has he done? This is a man who has hardly used his federal government allotment. IGR was used for all of the developments that have occurred in Rivers State, highlighting the fact that state advancements were made using internally generated revenue as opposed to federal funding.
