Ruben Amorim knows he won’t be granted much too much time at United

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim realises it won’t take too much time for the hierarchy to wield the axe on his tenure.
The Portuguese tactician was appointed in November as a replacement for Erik ten Hag who endured a torrid start to the season. But as one could tell by the club’s 14th position in the table, things have hardly improved under the tutelage of the new manager.
Nevertheless, Amorim is still trying his best to save what could be still salvaged from this miserable campaign. For instance, the Reds returned from Spain with a 1-1 draw against Real Sociedad in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 16, and they certainly deserved a better result based on their encouraging display.
United will be looking to back it up with another good showing when they host Arsenal on Sunday.
In addition to pre-match predictions, comparisons between Amorim and fellow young tactician Mikel Arteta were unavoidable. However, the Man Utd boss noted one key difference between the two men’s situations.
Ruben Amorim insists he won’t be given the Mikel Arteta treatment at Man United

The former Sporting CP head coach has no illusions about his future, insisting he won’t be granted the same amount of time that Arteta was offered at Arsenal, suggesting he could be sacked in the near future if he fails to turn the tide in United’s favour.
“I will not have the time that Arteta had. I feel that. It’s a different club,” said Amorim in his pre-match press conference via Sky Sports.
Nevertheless, Amorim still reserved praise for his Spanish counterpart whom he considers an inspiration as he managed to win the trust of the club and supporters following a shaky start.
“The way Arteta dealt with that is an inspiration for everybody. But I will not have the time like Arteta had.”
The 42-year-old was appointed as Arsenal’s head coach in December 2019 following the sacking of Unai Emery.
