Rudeboy Vows Legal Action Over Social Media Allegation

Nigerian music star Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy of P-Square, has vowed to take legal action against a social media user who accused him of misconduct.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) late Monday, the singer issued a stern warning to a user identified as @chubbiedivah, who had alleged that he coerced a domestic worker. Rudeboy described the claim as defamatory and threatened to make her a “scapegoat.”

“I hardly reply!!! But you see this one… I will use every necessary means, power, resources and money!!! You will face the law, I will use you to set an example!!” he wrote

The accusations, which also resurfaced in a series of replies on X, suggested that the singer mistreated household staff in the past. Rudeboy denied the allegations and urged fans to disregard them, saying his lawyers would pursue the matter.

The controversy has stirred debate on Nigerian social media, with some users questioning the ethics of unverified claims online, while others urged caution in public exchanges involving celebrities.

Rudeboy, who rose to fame as part of the award-winning P-Square duo, is the latest Nigerian artist to clash with critics on social platforms amid growing concerns about cyberbullying and reputational damage in the digital space.
