Russia Warns Charlie Kirk’s Killing Reflects Deep Polarization in U.S. Society

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Sunday the United States is now “extremely polarized,” in response to the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. He urged U.S. law enforcement to determine whether the killing was an isolated incident or part of a disturbing trend.
Kirk, a co-founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot at an event at Utah Valley University and leaves behind a wife and two children.
Peskov also noted Kirk had voiced opposition to U.S. aid for Ukraine, had criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and described Crimea as “always part of Russia.”
