Sky Sports reveals what Chelsea plan to do with Jadon Sancho

After weeks of never-ending speculations, Chelsea’s plans for Manchester United flop Jadon Sancho have been revealed.

After three disappointing years at Old Trafford, the 24-year-old sealed a loan move to Stamford Bridge last summer. The Blues have an obligation to buy the player for £25 million at the end of the season.

All seemed well at the start of the campaign, with the English international presenting himself as a solid addition to Enzo Maresca’s squad. However, his levels plummeted recently, and he’s been struggling to make any sort of impact in the Premier League since the turn of the new year.

Therefore, there have been circulating reports in the English media claiming that Chelsea will exercise an option to cancel their obligation to buy the player. The West Londoners can simply activate this clause by paying Man Utd a fee of £5 million.

But according to Sky Sports, these rumours are unfounded, as Chelsea still intend to buy Sancho at the end of the campaign.

This news is certainly a big boost for the Red Devils, even though one of the player’s old coaches insisted Sancho could be Ruben Amorim’s ideal Number 10 and would seamlessly thrive in his system.

The Man Utd boss had previously revealed that the club can only fund their transfer dealings by selling players, something that co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has also come out to confirm recently. Hence, it remains to be seen how INEOS will reinvest this sum.

While United’s main focus will be on landing a top-notch striker, a like-to-like replacement for Sancho might be needed, especially following the departures of Antony and Marcus Rashford who are expected to seal permanent transfers in the summer.

The Red Devils tried to reunite Amorim with his old Sporting CP pupil Geovany Quenda, but fell short in the race against Chelsea.
