Sole Administrator Inspects Trans-Kalabari Road Project, Says Project Will Boost Rivers Economy

In a recent video shared on Symfoni tv, the Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral (Rtd) Ibok Ete Ekwe Ibas, has described the Trans-Kalabari Road Project as a strategic initiative aimed at addressing the socioeconomic difficulties experienced by residents in the riverine communities of the state.
Vice Admiral (Rtd) Ibas made this assertion on Monday during an inspection tour of the ongoing Trans-Kalabari Road Project in Rumuolumeni Community, as well as the Permanent Secretaries’ Quarters in Rumuokwurushi Community, both in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
During the visit, the Administrator emphasized the need for the timely completion of the projects, particularly the Trans-Kalabari Road, noting that it will significantly contribute to enhancing the socio-economic status of Rivers State and Nigeria as a whole.
“We are also very much aware of the very difficult, challenging terrain around here, in terms of communication, and communicating between communities. This project, when completed, I think, will boost the socio-economic life of the state and the nation as a whole,” he stated.
The Trans-Kalabari Road Project, which is expected to improve connectivity between riverine communities and the mainland, has been a long-anticipated development aimed at enhancing trade, transportation, and overall economic activities in the region.
The Administrator reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that the project is executed efficiently and delivered within the stipulated timeframe, emphasizing that infrastructure development remains a priority in fostering sustainable growth and improving the livelihoods of the people in the region.
Residents and stakeholders in the affected communities have expressed optimism about the project, acknowledging its potential to drive economic growth and ease transportation challenges that have long hindered development in the area.
With the inspection visit completed, the Administrator assured the public of continued oversight and monitoring to guarantee quality execution of the project, in line with the administration’s vision for a more prosperous and connected Rivers State.
