Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo-led State Executive Council has awarded the construction of St Stephen – Isiokwe Road to NEW IDEA CONSTRUCTION COMPANY NIG LTD at the sum of one billion naira only, just a week to bye election in the area (Onitsha North One constituency).
The Council made the approval at Light House Awka with terms and conditions of the contracts and adherence to the state’s procurement regulations, to be followed.
According to a statement released by the Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor, the council also awarded the rehabilitation of Amichi-Osumenyi Road by the Anambra Road Maintenance Agency (ARMA) at the contract sum of 670 million naira.
He said the council approved the construction of the Ugwuaku-Ibugughu-Osu-Umuchu Road to BENEJAF INT’L LTD at the sum of 2.7billion naira.
The council further cautioned against spreading misinformation and disinformation, urging citizens to rely on credible sources for information and to verify facts before sharing.
Dr Mefor said the warning aims to promote a peaceful and informed environment, in the build up to the forthcoming elections in the state.###
