Spain Demolishes Turkey 6–0 as Merino’s Hat-Trick Lights Up World Cup Qualifier

Spain delivered a stunning 6–0 victory over Turkey in their World Cup qualifying match on Sunday, firmly asserting dominance in Group E.
The rout was spearheaded by Mikel Merino, who starred with a hat-trick—scoring twice in the first half and completing his feat early in the second with an audacious long-range strike.
The scoring onslaught began early, with Pedri opening the tally in the 6th minute. Merino doubled the advantage in the 22nd minute and added another before halftime. After the interval, Ferran Torres capitalised on a counterattack to make it 4–0, followed swiftly by Merino’s brilliant third. Pedri then sealed the emphatic win with his second goal in the 62nd minute.
Spain now top Group E with six points from two matches, while Turkey and Georgia trail with three points each. Georgia secured their spot alongside Turkey by defeating Bulgaria 3–0 earlier the day.
