Super Eagles Defeat Rwanda in Kigali to Boost 2026 World Cup Qualification Hopes

The Super Eagles of Nigeria secured a crucial victory against Rwanda in Kigali, continuing their pursuit of a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Nigeria took control early in the match, with star striker Victor Osimhen opening the scoring in the 11th minute. Osimhen capitalized on a well-delivered cross from Ademola Lookman to put the Super Eagles ahead. The Napoli forward doubled Nigeria’s lead in first-half stoppage time (45+3’), giving the visitors a comfortable advantage before the break.

Rwanda struggled to break through Nigeria’s solid defense, and the Super Eagles maintained their dominance to see out the win. The victory strengthens Nigeria’s position in the qualification race as they prepare for their next fixture against Zimbabwe on March 25, 2025.
