One Premier League manager has openly admitted he’d welcome the addition of a ‘fantastic’ Manchester United star this summer.
Luckily for him, he’ll be able to get the player for free.
Indeed, Christian Eriksen is among four Reds currently seeing out the final two months of their United contracts before being released at the end of June. The Dane arrived at Old Trafford as a free agent in 2022 following a half-season spell with Brentford – and Thomas Frank would be keen on reuniting with his compatriot next term
Adding a technical player like Eriksen to the ranks wouldn’t go amiss for the Bees, especially given how well he fared in his first stint at the Gtech Community Stadium.
The 33-year-old would then also be able to continue plying his trade in England’s top division – in a side that’s currently sitting four points clear of United in 12th place.

Frank heaped praise on Eriksen when speaking with Danish outlet Tipsbladet, saying: “Christian is a fantastic player and probably the best Danish player in recent times. I think we saw most recently against Portugal that he’s still in a really good place.
“There’s no doubt that he really wants to play more and had a really good time when he was with us. I’m open to all players, but of course, there are lots of things that need to be finalised when it comes to transfers. In any case, I would say that nothing is closed.”
When cheekily put on the spot as to whether official talks will take place, the coach, expectedly, kept tight-lipped on the matter.
“I can’t be that specific. In general, I usually say that I really like to talk about the players who are here right now, and, if I have to talk about others, I usually say it could be [Cristiano] Ronaldo or [Lionel] Messi, as it’s a little safer to talk about,” he remarked. “So, I can’t really answer that.”
As well as Eriksen, Victor Lindelof is mulling over his options ahead of his eight-year United tenure coming to an end, and is believed to be garnering a lengthy list of suitors in the Premier League and across Europe; his former club Benfica are well in the mix to snap him up for nothing when his deal expires.
Jonny Evans, 37, and Tom Heaton, 38, are also set to be released. However, it’s thought the pair will opt to hang up their boots – and gloves – for good, pulling the curtains on their professional careers following injury-plagued seasons.
