Three Serie A giants vying for Man United striker Rasmus Hojlund

Despite his woeful campaign, Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund remains very popular in Italy, as three Serie A giants are reportedly vying for his services.

On Sunday, the Red Devils will put an end to one of the worst seasons in the club’s history when they take on Aston Villa in a meaningless contest for Ruben Amorim’s men.

United currently sit in astonishing 16th position in the Premier League, and their hopes of rescuing something out of this miserable campaign faded after falling short against Spurs in the Europa League final on Wednesday.

Sadly for Hojlund, he has been identified as the face of Man Utd’s horrific season. The Dane has been shockingly poor in front of goal, scoring only 10 goals throughout the season, with just four coming in the Premier League.

Roy Keane went on to describe Hojlund as ‘sloppy’ and ‘not good enough’ to play for Man United.

Therefore, INEOS are already searching the market for a new centre-forward, with the likes of Liam Delap and Jean-Philippe Mateta emerging as some of the most reasonable candidates considering the circumstances.

But while most Man Utd fans would struggle to envision any top side wanting to accommodate Hojlund, Serie A has reportedly yielded not one, but three!

According to TuttoJuve, Inter Milan have now joined Juventus and Napoli in the race for the 22-year-old striker.

Hojlund spent a solitary career in the Italian top flight. This was the 2022/23 campaign, which he spent under the tutelage of Atalanta’s Gian Piero Gasperini.

The young striker was an instant hit at Bergamo, which prompted Man United to splash a whopping £72 million to secure his signature.

Hojlund’s stats by competition Appearances Goals Assists
Premier League 61 14 3
Serie A 32 9 4

Although the player failed to justify this hefty figure, the Italian giants still remember the promising Danish bomber who took Serie A by storm, so they’re willing to give him the opportunity to revive his career.

In Naples, Hojlund would reunite with Scott McTominay who has been selected as the Serie A MVP of the season after leading Antonio Conte’s men’s towards a fourth league title on Friday.
