* Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor has expressed displeasure over the continued use of industrial oxygen in hospitals instead of pure medical oxygen, pointing out that it’s a very dangerous thing.

Mefor while speaking during his courtesy visit to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Anambra State Oxygen Production Plant, Lady Nwamaka Arinze, at her office in Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH), Awka, stressed the need for legislation to stop use of industrial oxygen in hospitals.

The commissioner assured that the Ministry of Information will partner the office to sensitise Ndị Anambra on the dangers of using industrial oxygen in hospitals.

* Founding Director, Green Environment and Climate Change Initiative, (GRENCHI), Mmachukwu Obimdike, says collective action is critical to the attainment of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

Obimdike stated this at a one-day hybrid roundtable on sustainable food systems organized in Awka, Anambra State.

The event organized by the Sahelian Institute for Bamboo Research and Entrepreneurship Development (SIBRED) Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka in conjunction with Climate Smart Agriculture Youth Network Global, (GCSAYN), focused on the role of bamboo in climate-smart agriculture.

GRENCHI Founder Director, who was represented by Divine Chinemerem, maintained that there is a fundamental correlation between planetary sustainability and food systems transformation.

* The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) stakeholders in Njikoka Local Government Area have unanimously endorsed Governor Chukwuma Soludo for a second term in the upcoming November 2025 Anambra State governorship election.

The endorsement came during a meeting held at the country home of former House of Representatives member, Rt. Hon. Dozie Nwankwo, in Enuagu Village, Enugwu-Ukwu.

The motion for Governor Soludo’s re-election was moved by Hon. Chidi Ibemeka, representing Njikoka one Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, and seconded by Hon. Jude Akpua, the Deputy Majority Leader and member representing Njikoka two Constituency.

In hs speech, Rt. Hon. Dozie Nwankwo, the host of the meeting, emphasized the importance of unity within the party, stating that the gathering aimed to achieve consensus in support of Governor Soludo.

The Chairman of Njikoka LGA, Barr. Chinedu Ononiba, in hos remarks,
expressed optimism about the party’s prospects, noting the presence of key political figures at the meeting as a testament to the anticipated success of APGA in Njikoka. He emphasized the collective commitment to securing a second term for Governor Soludo.

* Anambra State House of Assembly has ordered for the arrest of the President General of Ifite Nteje, for failing to appear before the Committee on Public Petition, to answer all the fraudulent activities against him.

The resolution was made following the consideration of report of the House Committee on Public Petitions on the petition titled “Notice of illicit practice on land capable of causing communial crisis, an act which the state Assembly has legislated against.

Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye who presided over plenary on Tuesday ruled that the recommendation be adopted as a working document.

The Chairman House Committee on Public Petitions, Hon. Obi Nweke in his
submissions said the petitioners are Chinedu Stanley Uzo and Obinna Henry Emenogu while the respondents is the people of Ifite Nteje Community (President General)

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has expressed warm felicitations to Dr. Onyechi Ikpeazu esteemed legal luminary on the auspicious occasion of his birthday.

In his goodwill message, Soludo commended Dr. Ikpeazu’s distinguished career as a proof of absolute dedication, intellectual prowess, and an unyielding commitment to the tenets of justice and the rule of law.

The Governor further noted that beyond his legal eminence, Dr. Ikpeazu’s role as one of the leading lawyers in the country also underscores his steadfast dedication to the advancement of democratic principles and the promotion of good governance.

* The leadership of the Dynamic Youth Association of Nigeria (DYAN), popularly known as Ndi Ama Solution (Solution Witnesses), paid a courtesy visit to the Anambra State House of Assembly members representing Aguata 1, Aguata 2, and Ekwusigo constituencies—Hon. Emmanuel Anayo Okpalaeke, Hon. Tony Muobike, and Hon. Ikenna Ofodile, respectively.

Hon. Ofodile, who also serves as the Majority Leader of the House, joined his colleagues in receiving the delegation.

The group, led by Nze Valentine Ezeuchegbu, Senior Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Youth Mobilisation, used the occasion to strengthen ties with the lawmakers and introduce their mission to empower and mobilize the state’s youth.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has once again appealed to the people of Ihiala Local Government Area of the state to assist government in the fight against insecurity by helping to kick out criminal elements from their respective communities so that contractors can come and construct more roads there.

Soludo who made the appeal while responding to concerns from an indigene of Ihiala Local Government said contractors can not work where they would be kidnapped, maimed or their equipment vandalized by hoodlums harbouring themselves in surrounding bushes.

The governor stated that Okija community has emancipated herself from the captivity and treachery of non-state actors who initially held the community hostage and they are currently beneficiaries of the road revolution across the state.

Soludo stated that they have gone to Osumoghu severally to liberate it from criminals but expressed worry that unfortunately most of the youths in most of the communities in Ihiala particularly Ebonesie and part of Ihiala town have joined the bad boys and became their agents of destructions.

* An Anambra-born philanthropist and MD/CEO of Walata Consults and Services Ltd., Hon. Stanley Nwabueze Okafor, has continued to etch his name in gold through his consistent acts of philanthropy and unmatched passion for youth development, as he was recently honoured with the naming of a newly-established sports house after him at the prestigious of Utuh High School, Utuh, in Nnewi South Local Government Area of the State.

The new house, named WALATA HOUSE in recognition of his selfless services to humanity, was officially unveiled on Wednesday at the school premises, amid applause, commendations, and expressions of goodwill from staff, students, and community stakeholders.

In reciprocation and appreciation of this honour, Hon. Okafor also generously donated complete sportswear to fully kit members of the newly-unveiled house, alongside a cash donation he also made to the school to support the smooth running and preparation of the house ahead of the school’s upcoming inter-house sports competition.

* The leadership of the Labour Party has alerted the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) about an illegal primary being conducted for the Anambra State governorship election.

In a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, Obiora Ifoh, it was alleged that the illegal primary is being orchestrated by some disgruntled members of the party.

The statement clarified that, for the sake of transparency, the Labour Party has already concluded its governorship primary in Anambra State, and the name of the successful candidate has been submitted to INEC in compliance with election guidelines.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has tasked Ndi Anambra resident outside the state to contribute in making Anambra livable and prosperous by investing in and paying their personal income taxes to the state.

He gave the task at Victoria Island during the town hall meeting with Ndi Anambra residents in Lagos, where he presented his three-year scorecard and outlined the road ahead for a greater Anambra.

Governor Soludo, who noted that about half of indigenous population of Ndi Anambra live outside the state, said he is building a homeland where he will like to retire on completion of service, and charged the entire Igbo nation to make their home livable and prosperous.
