# The Lawmaker representing Njikoka two Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly says Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s deserves second term based on his giant strides within the first-four-year in office.

Dr. Akpua who is the Deputy Majority Leader of the 8th Assembly while addressing members of Anambra State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), on Thursday August 7th 2025 at the Godwin Ezeemo International Press Centre Awka,
explained that the governor has transformed all the key sectors, rejig the State security, provided infrastructural developments and others.

The legislator maintained that Anambra Patriots for Soludo (APS) are rooting for
Soludo’s re-election and that the support group are working together mobilising the grassroots for the government across the 326 electoral wards, 179 communities, markets, churches among others.

# Institute of Export Operations and Management, (IEOM) have trained over forty young men and women in Nibo community, Awka South LGA on how to export various agricultural products to Nigerians living outside the country.

The 2day training which was
sponsored by an illustrious son of the town, Chief Dr Innocent Akuvue, has as its theme; “Nibo to the world: Driving Diaspora Export from Nigeria”.

Speaking, the Executive Secretary Dr Ofon Udofia, said the training according is to ensure that indigenes of Nibo and other persons of Igbo extraction who live abroad have access to same foods as those within the country, while also creating job opportunities for unemployed youths in the community.

# The Anambra State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) decorated two senior officers recently promoted from the rank of Assistant Corps Commander to Deputy Corps Commander.

The newly promoted officers are Okolie Martina, Unit Commander RS5.31 Onitsha, and Boniface Iyakhemie, Unit Commander RS5.37 Umunze.

Speaking during the event held at the Unit Command headquarters in Awka recently, Anambra Sector Commander, Joyce Alexander attributed the promotions of the officers’ as a result of their outstanding dedication and hard work.

Alexander noted that the advancement was part of a nationwide promotion exercise approved by the FRSC management for senior officers.

In her response, Deputy Corps Commander Okolie Martina expressed gratitude on behalf of her colleague, thanking the FRSC leadership for the recognition.

# The Alumni Association of Nwafor-Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, Anambra State has described the just confirmed Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Igbariam as a worthy ambassador of the College.

Prof Azuka Kate Omenugha, a pioneer student of the then College of Education Nsugbe was until Wednesday, August 6, 2025 has been administering the affairs of the State-owned University but in acting capacity beginning December 2023.

The National President, Nwafor-Orizu College of Education Nsugbe Alumni Association, Prince Emeka Oramadike recalled the attributes and personality traits of the Vice Chancellor.

# Prince Oramadike agreeing with Prof Chukwuma Soludo’s conviction and trust in Prof Omenugha’s unquestionable qualification and capacity for the exalted position as the substantive Vice Chancellor of the institution, said ,”Soludo as an erudite scholar must have seen and experienced the stuff Azuka Omenugha, an acclaimed Professor of Mass Communication is made of and decided that her confirmation is both imminent and defensible”.

Prof Azuka Omenugha graduated in flying colors from the then College of Education Nsugbe as a student of English Language and Religion in 1984, among the pioneer set of the College, having secured an admission in 1981.

Prof Omenugha whose technocratic skill, administrative and management acumen are fast rising had served as the Commissioner for Basic Education in Anambra State among other corporate leadership positions she had held both in the academia and organizations.

# The Chairman of idemili South local government of Anambra State, Dr. (Mrs) Amaka Obi has distributed plantain suckers to over 400 residents in the area.

Speaking during the event, Dr. Obi said, this initiative aimed at supporting local agriculture and providing residents with resources for food production is part of a broader effort to improve livelihoods and community resilience.

The Mayor underscored the critical role of food security and nutrition in fostering a healthy and productive society, stating that her administration is committed to ensuring that every household in idemili South has access to affordable, nutritious food.

While stating that a well-fed community is the foundation of progress, she urged patriotic people of idemili South to embrace healthy eating habits championed by the wife of the Governor, Dr. Mrs Nonye Soludo.

# Anambra State born priest and Spiritual Director, Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Chibuzo Obimma, showered about five hundred congregants with bags of rice and other valuables in commemoration of his 14th year priesthood ordination.

The celebration which begun with mass (service) culminating into prayers and praises, also witnessed cultural displays and dancing troupes from all over the South-East geopolitical zone, including the award-winning Ohafia war dance of Abia State, Gorillas, Ifesinachi age grade (Nkwelle Ezunaka), and among others.

It was attended by distinguished personalities from all walks of life, including the Deputy governorship candidate of Young Progressive Party (YPP), Mr Uzu Okagbue, the Spiritual Leader of Okunerere Adoration Ministry, Nsukka, Rev. Fr. Professor Paul Obayi, the Ukpor born Fr. Nwokeke Nwokemodo among others.

Obimma popularly known as Fr. Ebube Muonso equally awarded scholarships to deserving students, settled hospital bills and others to the indigents and vulnerable, describing the gestures as parts of ways of thanking God who had consistently bless and uplift him in His vineyard.

# ‎In a strategic move to consolidate grassroots support ahead of the November 8, 2025, gubernatorial election in Anambra State, the Anambra Patriots for Soludo (APS) has inaugurated its ward executives in Ihiala LGA.

‎The inauguration ceremony, which held at Ihiala Local Government Council Hall, drew a mammoth crowd of supporters and party faithfuls who insist that Governor Soludo is doing well and deserves second tenure.

‎Speaking to newsmen at the event, the State Chairman of APS, Chief Ejiamatu Damian Enekwechi, represented by the Public Relations Officer, Dr. Freeman Obumneke, said the purpose of the inauguration was to mobilize, educate, and protect votes to ensure Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s return for a second term.

‎Chief Ejiamatu said that against the backdrop of the political motivated insecurity, sponsored by the enemies of the state who want to reap where they did not sow, Soludo’s administration has successfully tamed the then daunting security challenges, which would have give opposition a leverage, hence the successful inauguration of the APS in the local council.

# Anambra State High Court sitting at Neni has convicted two brothers, Izuchukwu Obinaju and Obinna Obinaju, over murder of their uncle, Mr. Bertrand Obinaju.

Their uncle, said to be a victim of Boko Haram crisis, returned to his home town from Sokoto after losing everything. The deceased was said to be living at the mercy of his in-laws and relatives, and when he failed to show up for a promised handout one day, one of his in-laws who served him in the early years grew concerned and set out in search of him.

It was gathered that though misled by the defendants that their uncle; the deceased, had taken a trip to Asaba, the said in-law still could not locate him, after which he reached out to his friend who is a member of Nimo Vigilante Group, and with the help of the vigilante friend, they began searching for him afresh till their search led them to the defendants’ house where they discovered a sack filled with suspected human remains; despite efforts of the defendants to cover their tracks.
