# Hon. Jude Akpua, the Deputy Majority Leader, Anambra State House of Assembly represented the Convener of the APS, Arc Okey Ezeobi, “Anambra Patriots For Soludo” and reaffirmed its commitment to the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, citing his progressive policies, infrastructural development, and people-centred governance in Anambra State.
Speaking at the NUJ Congress in Awka, the group’s leadership praised Soludo’s achievements in areas such as education, road construction, healthcare, and digital transformation. They pledged to mobilise grassroots support for his administration and future political ambitions.
According to Akpua “Governor Soludo is delivering real dividends of democracy. Anambra needs continuity, and we are solidly behind him.”
This endorsement comes as part of growing calls from various civic and political organisations urging the governor to stay the course and potentially seek re-election in the November 8th 2025 gubernatorial election.
# Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has conveyed his most hearty congratulations to his predecessor and former Governor, Chief Sir Willie Maduaburochukwu Obiano on the occasion of his 70th birthday today.
In his goodwill message, Soludo commended Chief Obiano, who served as the Governor of Anambra State from March 17, 2014, to March 17, 2022, as a worthy predecessor who made significant impact on the socio-economic progression of our dear state and the people of Anambra State

# The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for the August 16th 2025 Anambra South Senatorial By-election, Chief Emmanuel Nwachukwu has pledged to put an end to the issue of political ‘business-as-usual,’ if given the mandate in contest.
Chief Nwachukwu maintained that he is going to the Red Chamber to offer nothing but authentic and impactful representation.
The Senatorial Candidate stated this while fielding questions from the members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council in Awka, on Thursday August 7th 2025.
The Telecommunications expert and former banker assured the people of Anambra South Senatorial Zone that no project started by Late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah would be abandoned.

# The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Anambra State Chapter has Congratulateed Two-terms Commissioner for Education in Anambra State, Prof. Azuka Kate Omenugha fnipr, on her appointment as the Substantive Vice Chancellor Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
In a statement signed by Chairman, NIPR Anambra State Chapter, Prof. Angela Nwammuo and Sir Nnamdi Onuzulike PRE maintained that the appointment represents putting a round peg in a round hole, and signifies the Governor’s approval and confirmation of Professor Omenugha’s purposeful leadership in the citadel of learning which has helped in advancing values, viability and visibility of COOU.

# The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has felicitated with distinguished Senator and former Governor, Dr Chris Nwabueze Ngige as he celebrates his birthday today.
In his congratulatory remarks, Governor Soludo lauded Senator Ngige, a medical doctor turned politician, as a leader who rendered good services to Anambra State and Nigeria through his various roles in public service.
He served as Governor of Anambra State from May 2003 to March 2006, during which he initiated development programmes that benefited the people of Anambra State.
# The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Anambra, Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, PhD, says the media remained a veritable tool for people to take their message directly to the grassroots across the state.
Dr. Odogwu while addressing candidates for the August 16th 2025 Anambra South Senatorial at the Godwin Ezeemo International Press Centre, encouraged journalists to always adhere to the ethics of the profession by being upright and unbiased in their reportage of events.
# Anambra Governorship candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Sir. Paul Chukwuma, has condoled the Woman Leader of APGA, Mrs. Esther Onyekesi, over the loss of her son, Martins Onyekesi (Fish Magnet), to kidnappers.
Martin Onyekesi, a young and vibrant fish farmer in Awka, was kidnapped in his family compound in Okpuno area of Awka about days ago, and murdered by his kidnappers.
Sir Paul, who visited the APGA woman leader on Thursday, at her family house in Awka with the YPP Deputy Governorship candidate, Uzu Okagbue, expressed profound sadness that criminals could be so audacious to trail the young Martins home and, despite the difficult terrain, took him with them and escaped through such an uneasy access road to their house.
# The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has expressed gratitude to God for the eventful lives of two former Governors of the State, Dr.Chris Ngige and Chief Willie Obiano, describing the duo as big contributors to the growth and development of the State as well as the well-being of the citizenry.
In his Goodwill Message to the former Governors, Dr. Ngige and Chief Obiano as they mark their 73rd and 70th birthdays respectively, Rt Hon. Udeze acknowledged that while Dr. Ngige made unprecedented marks on road infrastructure in the State by building solid roads across the State, which originated the slogan ” Ngige Standard”, Chief Obiano achieved a legacy project through the construction of the “Anambra International Airport”, which earned him great honour as the second Igbo Governor in history after the Late Governor Sam Mbakwe of Imo State to build an Airport.
The Speaker also noted that the two former Governors recorded similar achievements on security and health sector, adding that their tenures gave adequate attention to security of lives and property and improved the health condition of Ndi Anambra.
He observed that Anambra State is lucky as it is being governed by committed people whose contributions to the development of the State are legendary, while commending Governor Chukwuma Soludo for transforming all sectors of the State economy through purposeful administration.
