* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has expressed deep grief on the passing of a most distinguished Nigerian elder statesman and Pan-Niger Delta Forum leader, Chief Edwin Clark, on Tuesday at the age of 97.
In his condolence message, Soludo through a press statement signed by Mr. Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to the Governor, extolled Chief Clark as an extraordinary Nigerian patriot who served this nation with uncommon dedication as a former Federal Commissioner for Information and leader of the Pan-Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF).
The Governor further stated that Chief Clark was ever unapologetic in his pursuit of justice, equity, and true federalism, as his life exemplified the possibility of building bridges across ethnic and regional lines for the greater good of our nation. Although Chief Clark’s passing marks the end of an era, his uncompromising pursuit of a united, just, and truly federal Nigeria lives on.
Soludo mourns the recent loss of Afenifere leader, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, who passed away at 96. He was also known to be a relentless advocate for true federalism and would be dearly missed.
* The Young Progressives Party (YPP) Councilor candidates during last September’s controversial Anambra LGA election across the ten wards in Nnewi North LGA, have declared for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a joint statement, after they were formally received into the APC, the councillorship candidates said their decision was based on Sir. Paul Chukwuma’s “unbeatable capacity” and the fact that he is a “round peg in a round hole,” adding that he would rescue Anambra State from mediocrity.
The group who declared their support for Sir. Paul Chukwuma in the coming APC governorship primary election on April 6 and the General Election on November 8, 2025.
* The Strengthening Public Accountability for Results and Knowledge (SPARK II) project implementing partners have sought active participation of various stakeholders in its multi-stakeholder dialogue session scheduled to hold later this week.
The Team made the call during a visit to the Immunization Officer and Chairman, National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), Anambra State Council, Comrade Onwuka Edith in her office.
During the visit, the SPARK II COMEN Consultant, Ugochi Ehiahuruike, explained that the dialogue session is part of the activities under the SPARK 2 project, being implemented by Justice Development and Peace Caritas (JDPC) Nnewi, in collaboration with the Community Empowerment Network (COMEN), and the Civil Rights Concern (CRC) supported by the International Budget Partnership (IBP).
* Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) at its 3rd meeting, reiterated that the State Government is documenting practitioners of traditional medicine (native doctors) and not registering or granting them practice certificates.
Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor in a press statement noted that thorough investigations of native doctors in custody suspected of being quacks or criminals are ongoing, and those found guilty will be subject to the full force of the law.
“As mandated by the Anambra State Homeland Law 2025, the Council also instructed Anambra communities that might be documenting non-indigenes to do so without charging any fees and to view the process as entirely a social responsibility rather than a means of making money.
“The Council also approved requests from certain communities for the Anambra State Government to take over their community secondary schools, which they had built and maintained. The Government will upgrade the schools to the level of the state’s public secondary schools, integrate their teachers into the teaching workforce, and hire more teachers where necessary.
“The council has approved N801,534,464.00 for the construction of the Nzam headquarters road in Anambra West LGA. It was awarded to Kanubeen Construction Ltd. and will be completed in six weeks.
“N48,500,000 was also approved for Staff Offices/Examination Hall and Laboratory building project at Urban Boys Secondary School, Fegge, Onitsha South Local Government Area. The contract was awarded in favour of Harriets Millennium Estate Nigeria Ltd.
* The Chairman of Solution FC, Chukwuma Ezeamama has called in the media and the private sector in Anambra to support the club’s campaign to progress from the Nigeria National League (NNL) to Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Ezeamama made the call during a meeting between the management of Solution FC and leadership of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Anambra State chapter in Awka on Tuesday.
The Chairman said the dream of Anambra people to own a football club had been made a reality by Governor Chukwuma Soludo after over 30 years adding that every hand should be on deck to keep Solution FC alive.
On his part, Chimezie Anaso, Chairman of SWAN, Anambra Chapter commended Solution FC management for keeping the club competitive since it’s two years of existence.
Anaso said the possible formation of a State club was the earliest conversation Soludo had with the media and commended him for making it a reality we uth his first year in office.
* The attention of the Anambra State Government has been drawn to a malicious and entirely false information circulating on social media platforms, claiming that “Anambra State Government begins arrest of girls who walk around without bras and pants before they start walking naked.”

“We wish to categorically state that this information is not only false but also mischievous and calculated to mislead the public and paint the state government in bad light.
* The Councillor representing Nnobi Ward two in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anamabra State, Hon Oluchukwu Ilogbenu has launched an education support fund worth N1.5 million for three secondary schools as the community inaugurates new town union executive.
Hon. Ilogbenu said the grants were to assist in offsetting the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) registration fees for forty five Senior Secondary School III students.
The education grants which were part of Hon. Ilogbenu’s empowerment projects in his Ward were unveiled at Umuegbu hall, Ngo Nnobi, recently.
The event was part of the activities to mark the official handover and swearing in of Hon Ilogbenu who doubles as the is the elected Chairman of Ngo Development Union (NDU) with other officers.
* Bible Base Miracle Assembly, Nkpor-Agu, has held special prayer service for Governor Charles Soludo and Anambra State in general to win the current war against insecurity and evil alters prevalent in the state.
The prayer service, presided over by the Senior Pastor of the church, Rev. (Dr.) Jerry Nwachukwu, was held at the headquarters of the church at No 16 Ezendu Street, off Mercedes Avenue, Nkpor-Agu.
Speaking during the prayer service, Rev Nwachukwu said that last year or two, when kidnapping and other violent crimes were rising gradually in Anambra, with cases of Okite rituals and other get-rich-quick syndrome becoming predominant, the church, led by the Holy Spirit, went into fervent prayers for God’s intervention.
* The attention of the Anambra State Government has been drawn to the mis-representations of the un-ambiguous provisions of the new Anambra State Homeland Security Law 2025 and its express demands on the citizens and residents of the state by town criers and some others.
Commissioner for Information, Anambra State, Dr. Law Mefor, in a public notice,
the misleading statements made by these town criers are neither part of the new law nor are they a directive from the state government.
” In one instance, a town crier told the people that henceforth, those wearing dreadlocks or sagging their trousers would be arrested.
* The President General (PG) of Nimo Town Development Union (NTDU), Engr. Dan Zeelunjo Anakpe has commended members of the community, for their support so far.
Zeelunjo appealed for continues support assuring that his executives are all out to transform Nimo. He warned those sponsoring and planting the seed of disunity to repent from such act, assuring that the names of the mischief makers will be publish in due course.
Anakpe while speaking in a town hall meeting on Tuesday at the EgweEgwe auditorium, stated that Governor Chukwuma Soludo has issued a new directive based on the Anambra Homeland Security law passed by the state House of Assembly.
