* As part of his gubernatorial campaign for the APC Primaries, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji, a frontline APC gubernatorial aspirant and Member of the 5th Legislature of the ECOWAS Parliament, embarked on a tour of Awka South, Dunukofia, and Awka North LGAs.

During the tour, he shared his vision with party faithfuls and solicited their support ahead of the party’s internal process, as he vies to become the APC’s flag bearer in the upcoming Anambra State governorship election.

While engaging with party faithfuls across Awka South, Dunukofia, and Awka North LGAs, Hon. Umeoji emphasized the importance of supporting a gubernatorial aspirant with a strong connection to Anambra State. He highlighted four key qualities of an ideal candidate:

* Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly and member representing Awka-South two State Constituency Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Pius Okoye has identified passion as the secret to every legitimate success.

Rt. Hon. Okoye who noted this while addressing women and young girls at the maiden Awka-South LGA Women Entrepreneurship Conference held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church Hall Amawbia on Saturday, stressed that it is not out of place for one to start small in pursuing one’s dreams and aspirations but with passion and resilience one can be the centre of attraction in no distant time judging from his humble beginnings.

The lawmaker who was the sole sponsor of the conference, said it was designed to bestow knowledge empowerment on women and young girls to enable them to get out of hunger, over-dependency, unemployment, poverty and abject penury as well as propel their minds in seeking financial independence more innovatively using their brains and not their bodies.

* The editoral board of Freenews Magazine, published by Obev Industries Limited, based in Portharcourt, Rivers State, has honoured Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA, Brigade as the overall “best-performing government agency in Anambra State” within the first one thousand days of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.

According to the Proprietor, Center for Innovation and Creativity, Amawbia, Dr. Okey Cyril-Nwuche, empowering a woman has a ripple effect on the society — starting from the family and it is also important to empower people through entrepreneurship knowledge beyond giving them items, which end up being sold due to lack knowledge to harness them.

Dr. Cyril-Nwuche advised government to find it needful to support existing small and medium scale enterprises and not just for start-ups as this will greatly boost the economy, appreciating Right Honorable Okoye for supporting the centre.

The Deputy Speaker in his speech, noted that women are the backbone of the economy even with challenges facing them in society. He clarified that he supported the programme because it is in pointing with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s agenda of empowering young people economically to be self-reliant.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has called on the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to place greater emphasis on tackling the root causes of counterfeit drug circulation by scrutinizing the entire pharmaceutical supply chain.

Soludo made this statement during his visit to the Ogbo Ọgwụ open drug market in Onitsha, which was recently shut down by NAFDAC due to the sale of fake and substandard medications.

The closure is part of a broader effort to safeguard public health and restore confidence in the pharmaceutical sector.

Accompanied by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Orutugu and NAFDAC’s South East Regional Comptroller, Mr. Iluyomade Martins, Soludo was taken around the market and briefed on key findings from the ongoing investigation into illegal drug distribution.

Speaking at the market, Soludo stressed that while enforcement actions like market closures are necessary, addressing the supply chain issues is the key to ensuring long-term success in the fight against counterfeit drugs.

* The Deputy Majority Leader, Anambra House of Assembly, Hon. Jude Akpua has inspect the reconstruction of the Awkuzu-Abba-Ukpo-Abagana road, facilitated by the State Government.

Dr. Akpua while speaking during the inspection, commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his efforts in enhancing road infrastructure across the state.

Expressing satisfaction at the quality of job done at some sections of the road which have already been asphalted, the lawmaker said the project is of significant economic importance to the people of Njikoka, while reaffirming his support for the Governor.

The contractor handling the project, Engr. Benjamin Akabuike, assured that the road construction is being executed to the highest standards, assuring to deliver durable and quality work.

“The video falsely alleges that she previously held the position of “South East Polytechnics Director of TETFund” which is non-existent and further insinuates that she diverted funds from TETFund.

“These allegations are entirely unfounded and lack any factual basis. It states.

* Access to clean and affordable water has long been a challenge for residents of Okpoko, a densely populated area in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Before Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s intervention, water scarcity was a major issue, forcing residents to rely on expensive water vendors.

Many families spent money buying water of unsure quality, while others had to trek long distances to fetch it.

This made daily life difficult, particularly for low-income households.

Expressing their appreciation for the pipe-borne water project, residents including Messrs Jude Okoli, Ekene Nnamdi, and Mrs. Chineye Okoh said it has significantly reduced their burden of treking long distances and spending a huge amount of money on water, pointing out that water is now closer to them and also the cost of water in the area has dropped drastically.

They said the water runs on a regular basis, and they fetch it at no cost.

They, however, appealed to the state government to sustain the initiative and also extend the water stand to more streets in the community.
