# APGA family in Ekwusigo LGA has welcomed one of the giants in the All Progressives Congress, Juliet Anaeme, who defected from APC to APGA, at a reception ceremony which took place in

The event was attended by the State Chairman of the party, chief Ifeatu Obiokoye as well as members of APGA in all the twelve wards in Ekwusigo.

Addressing party faithful while receiving the new entrant, Obiokoye said that APGA has existed for many years and has been providing dividends of democracy to Ndi Anambra for over twenty years now, unlike other parties that are forming ward members four months to the election, advising the people not to be carried away by what they are being given now that will end immediately after the election but to focus on benefits that will come after the election.

# The Chief of Staff to the APC Governorship Candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, Bar. K.K Ezekwelu has made a passionate appeal to ndi Idemili South LGA to deliver 100% votes in support of the party in the upcoming Anambra State gubernatorial election.

Ezekwelu a made this call during a political consultation with some stakeholders and community leaders in the LGA. He emphasized the importance of unity, loyalty, and political alignment in bringing meaningful development to the region.

He further noted that Idemili South has always played a vital role in the political structure of Anambra State and urged his constituents not to allow internal divisions or opposition propaganda to derail their collective mission.

The Ojoto-born political strategist assured residents that Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu has a detailed blueprint for infrastructure, youth empowerment, education, and healthcare with Idemili South featuring prominently in his plans.

# The Nnewi Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NCCIMA), in collaboration with the Anambra State Ministry of Industry, has hosted the 2025 Nnewi Economic Summit.

The summit was designed as a platform for strategic brainstorming on how to build an inclusive, competitive, and sustainable economy for Nnewi and to harness the ingenuity of the people by leveraging the town’s industrial strength to develop a framework that supports innovation, infrastructure, workforce empowerment, and environmental sustainability.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo, represented by the Commissioner for Industry, Hon. Christian Udechukwu, emphasized the administration’s commitment to human capital development, describing the people as the state’s greatest assets.

He highlighted ongoing initiatives such as the One Million Digital Anambra Thrivers Project, robotics training programs, and the training of over 60,000 ICT-inclined youths in various digital skills to make them both productive and globally competitive and also stressed the need to digitize the Nkwo Nnewi market for improved efficiency and global relevance.

# The Mayor of Oyi, Hon. Emmanuel Nweke has distributed 10, 000 hybrid plantain suckers.

Speaking, Nweke said the initiative, aimed at jumpstarting the 2025 farming season, underscores a commitment to bolstering food security and promoting sustainable farming practices in Oyi LGA.

The distribution ceremony was held at the Oyi secretariat, attracting a diverse crowd of local farmers, dignitaries, and community leaders.

During his address, Mayor Nweke highlighted the critical importance of the “Farm to Feed” initiative championed by Governor Chukwuma Soludo. He encouraged the enthusiastic participation of community members in this vital agenda, emphasising that increased agricultural output is essential for both local and state prosperity.

# The NNPP Aspirant, Anambra South Senatorial Bye-Election, Barr. Peter Onyedika Ekwueme, in company of friends, associates and supporters, at the Party’s National Headquarters, Abuja, obtained the Party’s Expression of Interest and Nomination Form for the upcoming Senatorial Election.

The event was graced by the National Chairman of the Party, Dr. Ajuji Ahmed, the Deputy National Chairman, Prince Onu Nwaeze, the National Organizing Secretary, Hon. Bala Yunusa Mohammed and the Anambra State Chairman, Dr. Ugochukwu Agbanusi.

# The Head of LGA for Awka South, Mrs. Rita Obuekwu, has expressed profound appreciation to the Mayor of Awka South LGA, Prince Edu Okafor for fostering a conducive and productive working environment within the council.*

Mrs. Obuekwu made the remarks after receiving an Award for Excellent Leadership from the Anambra State Local Government Service Commission during their annual summit held in Awka.

In her remarks, Obuekwu praised Prince Okafor for his unwavering passion and dedication to public service. She commended his exemplary leadership style, stating that it has provided a conducive working atmosphere and also significantly strengthened cooperation and unity among local government officials in Awka South

She further assured the Mayor of her continued support in promoting progress and delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Awka South communities.

# The Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, Onitsha, was filled with joy and reverence as twenty-two candidates were ordained into the Catholic priesthood by the Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke.

Among those ordained was Rev. Damian Omenugha, son of the Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Prof. Kate Omenugha.

In his homily, Archbishop Okeke urged the newly ordained to become vessels of Christ by embracing the Holy Spirit and living out their priestly calling with humility and dedication, reminding them that Jesus Christ, the eternal High Priest, is the model for every priest’s mission and sacrifice.

Speaking after the ordination, Rev. Fr. Omenugha shared that his decision to join the priesthood was borne out of a genuine desire to serve God and humanity.

Also speaking, his mother, Prof. Omenugha, who witnessed the ordination with deep emotion, expressed her joy and gratitude, and prayed God to grant the newly ordained grace to serve faithfully in His vineyard.

# The Deputy Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly and member representing Awka South 2 Constituency, Rt. Hon Chukwuma Okoye, has called on ndi Anambra to take the ongoing nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise seriously by ensuring they obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC).

Okoye emphasised that the PVC remains the fundamental tool through which citizens can exercise their constitutional right to vote and shape the leadership of the state and the nation. According to him, the power to bring about meaningful change lies in the hands of the people, and without the PVC, that power cannot be exercised.

He reminded the people that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is currently carrying out the registration exercise in various centres across the state. He urged those who have not yet registered, as well as those who need to update or transfer their voter information, to seize this opportun

# The Anambra State Police Command, under the Ogidi Area Command, has recorded significant breakthroughs in its ongoing efforts to combat vehicle theft and armed robbery.

Two stolen vehicles were successfully recovered on Saturday July 12, 2025, in separate intelligence-led operations.

Acting swiftly on the intelligence-led information, the Divisional Police Officer Obosi led a team of police operatives, in collaboration with local vigilante personnel, in a coordinated search and recovered an abandoned 2005 model Toyota RAV-4, red in colour, with registration number YAB 122 AZ (Abuja) at along Fresh Air Hotel Road, near Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, Odume-Isiowulu, Obosi.

Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, SP. Tochukwu Ikenga, through a press release, stated that the vehicle was reported snatched from the owner in the early hours of 11th July 2025 by three armed men in Oba.
