# In a show of unwavering support for the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, the Aguata Laity Council has organized a prayer rally, uniting community members in a collective plea for God’s guidance and blessings; as the Governor seeks re-election for a second term.

The event, held at Central School, Ekwulọbịa in Aguata local government area, drew thousands of participants, including church leaders, local dignitaries and residents.

The rally witnessed heartfelt prayers from groups, who emphasized the importance of unity and faith in the face of political challenges, as well as the need for the Governor to continue.

In a speech, Governor Soludo expressed gratitude to the Aguata Laity Council and the residents for their support and prayers, and expressed commitment to continue the transformative work he has started.

The Governor highlighted key achievements of his administration, including significant investments in education, healthcare and infrastructure, as well as efforts to combat insecurity and promote economic development, calling on the people to remain steadfast in their support for good governance.

# The Member Representing Njikoka two Constituency Anambra State House Of Assembly, Dr. Jude Akpua has commissioned a new solar-powered streetlights in Ward I Abagana.

Akpua who is the Deputy Majority Leader of the 8th Anambra Assembly, in his address, stated that he is determined to ensure responsible, responsive and people-focused representation.

In his remark, former Federal lawmaker,
Hon. Dozie Nwankwo applauded Akpua for his commitment to qualitative representation that has engendered development in the nooks and crannies of Njikoka two Constituency.

Nwankwo described Akpua’s achievements as a track record that would remain imperishable and indelible in the sands of time. He appealed to the people of the area to vote massively for the victory of APGA in the forthcoming gubernatorial election, as that was the only way to ensure sustainable development of Anambra State noting that Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has performed incredibly and tremendously well, and should be returned to perfect the ongoing transformation in the state .

# The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) community came together in a solemn display of solidarity and compassion as they mourned the death of Chief Joseph Ezeokenwa, father of the party’s National Chairman, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa.

A funeral mass held at Holy Name Parish in Umuchu served as a poignant tribute to the life of a man whose legacy resonates deeply within the party and the community.

As worshippers filled the church, Governor Chukwuma Soludo, who serves as the National Leader of APGA, took a moment to express his heartfelt condolences to Barrister Ezeokenwa and his family.

# In her decisive commitment to the welfare and well-being of staff, the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof. Carol Chinyelugo Arinze-Umobi, recently hosted the maiden recognition ceremony for retired professors and principal officers of the university. The event, held at Administrative Block A, was a reunion of sorts, bringing together the university’s esteemed senior citizens.

Prof. Arinze-Umobi, in her address, revealed that she had long been burdened with the idea of inviting all retired professors and principal officers to see how they were faring, and she was grateful that the management team approved the initiative. She reiterated her commitment to their well-being, prayed for their continued strength and good health, and wished them a fulfilling retirement life.

The Chairman of the occasion, Professor Harry Obi-Nwosu, commended the Acting Vice-Chancellor for her thoughtful initiative, expressing joy at seeing the retired professors and principal officers celebrated for their service to the university.

# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has described the All Progressives Grand Alliance as the veritable platform for developing all sectors of the state.

Soludo stated this while speaking at various markets he visited, where he had a one-on-one interaction with people at the grassroot.

The markets visited include Oye Aguluzuigbo, Oye Ichida, Oye Obeledu and Oye Nimo, all in Anaocha local government area.

# As part of efforts to enthrone peace and unity across the state, the Professor Chukwuma Soludo-led administration has finally resolved a communal crisis in Oguaniocha community, Ogbaru Council Area, which has lingered for over four years and claimed several lives, even as the Traditional Ruler of the town who has been missing till date.

Speaking during peace talk with Oguaniocha youths at the Old Government House in Awka, the Chairman, Panel of Enquiry on the Oguaniocha Community Crisis, Honourable Justice Chinyelu Anigbogu, commended the youths and other members of the community for giving peace a chance, and thanked God that the effort of the state government in restoring peace in the area through the panel was not in vain.

Reminding the youths that no community progresses or develops in absence of peace, Honourable Justice Anigbogu encouraged them to maintain the already existing peace and unity, and disclosed that the next action to be taken by the panel as directed by Governor Soludo is assessment tour of the community to ascertain level of damage caused by the crisis; with a view to compensating affected individuals.

Speaking on behalf of other youths, the Oguaniocha Youth President, Engineer Uche Onyedi, and a top ranking member of the youth group, Barrister Peter Ajadobi, while presenting a letter of the youths’ resolve to embrace peace henceforth to the state government, thanked the state government for wading into the matter and uniting them as brothers again, and promised to continue on the path of peace and harmony.

# The Mayor of idemili South LGA, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi paid unscheduled visit to Continuous Voter Registration Centre (CVR), at Girls Secondary School, Awka-Etiti.

Speaking during the visitation, Hon. Obi appreciated INEC officers for their commitment towards their duty. She expressed concern over the huge number of unregistered prospective voters waiting to be captured onto the system.

She urged the electoral officers to speed up the process to ensure that no qualified applicant was denied the opportunity.

# A tech-driven network of young professionals has unveiled an operational hub known as ‘Geeks and Founders Alliance for Soludo’, a platform to mobilise votes for the reelection of the Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.

The group vowed to mobilise votes in all the wards across the 21 local government areas of the state for Soludo, who is the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in the November 8, 2025, governorship poll in the state.

Speaking in his welcome address during the unveiling, the Convener of the group, Mr Chukwuemeka Agbata, said the platform would serve as a nerve centre for community outreach, digital engagement, and collaboration, while reinforcing support for the governor’s reelection owing to his vision for a smart and prosperous Anambra.

# A 13-Man Committee has been inaugurated as the Local Government Child Rights Implementation Committee (LGCRIC) of Awka South LGA, to ensure effective implementation of the Anambra State Child Rights Law 2017 at the grassroot.

The inauguration which was held at the Secretary:s Office, Awka South Local Government Secretariat, Awka, Anambra State, was a follow-up to the capacity building training workshop earlier organised by the Anambra State Child Rights Law Implementation Committee (ASCRIC) and the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC) II Program, for Local Government Child Rights Implementation Committee members of the 21 LGAs of the state.

The Awka South LG Committee, which has the Secretary of the LG Council, Sir Peter Uyanwune as the chairman, and the Unit Head, Social Welfare, Awka South, Mrs Uju Nwachukwu-Muokwe as the secretary, was inaugurated by the Deputy Mayor of the LG, Hon Paul C. Ifeme, who represented the Mayor of Awka South LGA, Hon Prince Chinedu Okafor.
