# The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu has paid a courtesy visit to High Chief Dr. Christopher Ndubuisi at his office in Abuja.

The visit is part of the Commissioner’s broader advocacy initiative aimed at fostering collaboration between the Police, other security agencies, and key stakeholders within and outside the State.

During the meeting, CP Orutugu appreciated High Chief Ndubuisi for his consistent support to security agencies and called for increased synergy between traditional leaders, community stakeholders, and the Police, especially in intelligence gathering, public awareness, and logistics support for effective crime prevention.

The Commissioner emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in ensuring a peaceful and secure environment, noting that security remains a shared priority that requires continuous engagement with patriotic individuals and institutions.

In his response, High Chief Ndubuisi commended CP. Orutugu for his proactive leadership and unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property in Anambra State. He pledged continued moral and material support for the Police and other security agencies working tirelessly to maintain law and order in the State.

# Due to moral decadence in today’s society, series of lecture and training have been organized by organizations to expose the girl-child on how to guard and guide self so as to achieve greater heights in their various fields and better the society.

Such organizations was the Beacon of Hope Outreach, (BOHO), which, in collaboration with Honourable and Mrs Arthur Okechukwu Nwobi, organized ‘Caring of girl child – girls initiative and No girl is left behind ‘ aimed at ensuring the educational advancement of young girls and adolescents to create better outcomes pertaining to health and wellness.

Welcoming the team at St Michel and All Angels Anglican Church, Nawfia, venue of the event, the Archdeacon, Nawfia Archdeconry and Vicar of the church, Venerable Dr. Onyinyechukwu, extolled the convener for the idea of reaching out to young girls in exposing them to what they need to do in today’s society were everything has lost it values, stating that it also a think home philosophy to invest and build women who are salt of the earth charging the young girls to be resilient, focused and hard work as well as make prayers and studying of bible their watchword.

The Coordinator of Beacon of Hope Outreach, Lady Celestina Ekezie, noted that BOHO is a non governmental organization that extends helping hands to many in the society, especially empowerment of the pre- adolescent and adolescent girls within underserved communities through health, education and provision of necessary resources to maintain good personal hygiene and healthy lifestyle as they grow into womanhood.

# A member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engineer Valentine Oguama, has urged the general public, especially prospective land developers, landlords, and clients to always engage qualified engineers for construction projects to prevent the risk of building collapse.

Engr. Oguama gave this advice in Onitsha during the commissioning of the Shanahan University Student Canteen by the Archbishop of the Onitsha Archdiocese, His Grace, Most Rev. Valerian Maduka Okeke.

# The Faculty of Vocational and Technical Education, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has extended its congratulations to Professor Carol Chinyelugo Arinze-Umobi on her appointment as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution. In a courtesy call led by the Dean, Prof. C. C. Okolocha, the faculty expressed its support for Prof. Arinze-Umobi’s administration.

Prof. Okolocha noted that Prof. Arinze-Umobi has the capacity and confidence to take the university to greater heights. She assured her of the faculty’s support in her administration, expressing optimism about the future of the institution under her leadership.

Responding, the VC thanked the faculty team for their visit, assuring them of continued collaboration and support.

# Candidate of the Labour Party for Anambra State election, Dr. George Moghalu has promised to pull government force to develop agriculture massively in Omambala axis of the State, if elected.

Moghalu made the promise in Umueri while addressing Omambala Stakeholders during a town hall meeting made up of eminent personalities.

He assured that he had knowledge about the potential of Omambala clan in agriculture and would ensure the potential would be fully unleashed for the benefit of the State.

# The Mayor of Orumba-North LGA, Hon. Casmir Nwafor says nobody was favoured in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) senatorial primary election held last Monday at the Aguata council secretariat Ekwulobia.

Nwafor who spoke to newsmen said that the primary election which produced Chief Emmanuel Chibuzor Nwachukwu as the party’s candidate for the August 16th bye-elections, was free, fair, credible, transparent and devoid of confusion and rancour.

The Mayor mentioned that he was an observer at the election and that the aspirants agreed to make it a brotherly affair so that there would be no crisis after the primaries.

# The Anambra State Police Command has observed with grave concern the increasing activities of individuals and groups who deliberately share misleading or exaggerated security-related information on social media and other platforms with the sole intent of causing panic and discrediting the efforts of security agencies in the State.

Police Spokesperson, SP. Tochukwu Ikenga, in a press statement maintained that these acts are not only malicious but also undermine ongoing security operations and public confidence in the ability of law enforcement agencies to maintain law and order.

“The Command therefore warns that it will no longer tolerate such acts of deliberate misinformation.

” In line with ongoing security assessments, individuals found to be behind the spread of false or inciting content aimed at causing fear or discrediting the Police and other security agencies will be thoroughly investigated and exposed.

“Appropriate legal actions shall be taken in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015, and other extant laws.

“The public is hereby advised to remain vigilant, avoid spreading unverified information, and support the Police by reporting any suspicious activity through the Command’s official channels.

“The Command reaffirms its dedication to ensuring the safety and security of all residents in Anambra State, while also upholding transparency and professionalism in policing’. Ikenga stated

# The Chairman of Anambra State Football Association, Chief Chikelue Iloenyosi has visited physically challenged basketball players at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.

The former Super Eagles player recently strolled into the National stadium in for an engagement at the National Sports Institute where he met physically challenged basketball players practicing their craft.

Iloenyosi popularly known as ‘General’
demonstrated his passion for sports and doled out cash to the players, encouraging them to put in their best efforts in their profession.

The players were visibly happy and promised to increase their efforts in training, clearly boosted by the chairman’s visit and support.

The football administrator’s actions reflect his commitment to supporting sports development, both on and off the pitch.

# The Mayor of Idemili North LGA in Anambra State, Hon. Stanley Nkowka, asserts that AC Uzoegwu Company Enterprises legitimately has the right to collect funds for the state government from the Nkpor Central Motor Park, Hon. Afam Uzoegwu has presented different perspective.

Hon. Uzoegwu reiterated his stance, clarifying that the contract revalidation document and the MoU made between the former Transport Commissioner and AC Uzoegwu do not signify a contractual agreement since.

He said he views it as none was originally established, maintained that there was no formal contract between AC Uzoegwu Company Enterprises and the state government.
