# Police Operatives attached to the Otolo- Nnewi Police Station has arrested one Nnaji Chukwuka ‘M’ aged 20 years who is a member of an armed robbery gang/syndicate/Motorcycle snatcher terrorizing Nnewichi, Nnewi North Local Government Area and recovered one machete and one Honda Cub 120 motorcycle.
The arrest follows the painstaking efforts of the Operatives who have monitored the pattern of the criminal operations and based on a series of complaints about the activities of the gang in the area.

Anambra State Command, the suspect has made useful statements that is aiding the investigation for possible arrest of the other gang members.

# Governor Chukwuma Soludo returned to his alma mater, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), as a keynote speaker for a lecture on “Ethical Leadership, Security, and Sustainable Development.”
The event, organized by the Ethics, AI and Higher Education Strategy Team (EAISTRAP) of the university, drew prominent dignitaries and students.
In his lecture, Soludo emphasized the importance of merit in ethical leadership, citing his administration’s recruitment of 8,115 qualified teachers from 18 states as a practical example.
The governor stressed that the interest of the Anambra child is to be taught by the best teacher, regardless of origin. “The interest of the Anambra Child is to be taught by the best teacher across the world, not by the incompetent person from his village,” he stated.
# Police Operatives attached to the Special Cultism Squad, Obosi Sector while acting on credible information burst into a drug trafficking network.
During the raid, six suspects including a female drug dealer were arrested, and a large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be hard drugs and other incriminating hard substances were recovered in Isuaniocha, Awka North Local Government.
According to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command, the suspects include Chinyere Onwuka ‘F’ aged 32 years, John Kennedy Onwuka ‘M’ aged 36 years, Chidiebere Onyeze aged 30 years, Echeazu Nonso ‘M’ aged 35 years, Osita Chukwu Chialuka ‘M’ aged 21 years and Nnebedum Wisdom ‘M’ aged 25 years respectively.
Reacting, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, frowned at the relative rise in drug consumption by the teeming youths and noted that drugs are the oxygen that drive most crimes and bad behaviour exhibited by individuals.

* Anambra State Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance Party, (APGA), Sir Ifeatu Obi-Okoye have called on all the members of the Solution Witnesses to go and preach the good works of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.
The APGA boss while speaking during the
group’s courtesy visit to the party’s Secretariat recently tasked them to enlarge their coast.
Speaking during the visit, the Convener, Hon. Valentine Ezeuchegbu, said the visit was to familiarise with the State Chairman and inform him of the group’s activities which have been ongoing for some time now.
Ezeuchegbu noted that Soludo’s Witness Support is also in harmonisation with other support groups as well as APGA as a party.
* Nigerian activist and influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM) has called on the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to release arrested Onitsha drug traders.
VDM recently stormed the Onitsha drug market and exposed the alleged extortion of ₦700,000 from traders as a condition for reopening.
VDM, who shared the latest update on Saturday revealed that the market has now been reopened, but not without consequences.
According to him, some businessmen who appeared in his previous video at the market have allegedly been arrested by NAFDAC operatives, who suspect they were the ones that invited him to investigate and expose the situation.
But VDM has strongly refuted that claim. According to him.
* Members of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Anambra State Chapter have extended their heartfelt condolences to the people of Kano state over the ghastly auto crash involving some members of the state contingent.
Recall that some members of Kano State Team to the just concluded 22nd National Sports Festival (NSF) in Abeokuta,Ogun State travelling in a 30-seater bus back to the state were involved in an auto crash .
No fewer than 20 members of the team including athletes, medical personnel, administrators and journalists were killed in the accident with others sustaining varying degrees of injury.
Anambra SWAN described the tragedy as heartbreaking and unfortunate.
The Statement which was signed by Chimezie Anaso and Uche Ndeke, Chairman and Secretary of SWAN in Anambra said members of Sports Press deeply saddened by the news of crash.
* The Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu on Saturday received some Igbo Youth Stakeholders in his Office at the Anambra State Police Command Headquarters Awka.
The visit was aimed at collaborating on the Command’s advocacy to promote peace and enhance public safety and order, highlighting the importance of collective efforts and synergy in ensuring a secured environment for all.
In his speech, the CP commended the Anambra Youths for the maturity they displayed on 30th May which heralded a zero-violent day, given the threats by the Common enemies of the State.
In their response, the leader of the delegation, Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu thanked the CP and pledged greater cooperation and support to the Command and other Security agencies in the State.
Okpalaezeukwu also hinted the Command of the proposed Igbo Youth Stakeholders Convention to be held in the State to brainstorm on general issues concerning the Southeast, most especially security.
* Anambra Governor’s wife, Dr. Nonye Soludo has flagged off the empowerment of one thousand, eighty five female petty traders in Dunukofia local government area with cash support to boost their businesses.
The empowerment programme which was held in Ukpo, Dunukofia local government headquarters, was aimed at boosting economic sustainability of low income traders, basically women who are into petty trades across local markets.
The beneficiaries, who were selected across all the major markets in all the communities under the local government area, were given a cash grant of fifty thousand naira each to push up their businesses and sustain economic growth of their families.
The empowerment programme was sponsored by notable sons of the local government area, Prince Arthur Eze and Chief Jim Martin Nwabueze, with support from the local government administration.
Speaking during the program, the governor’s wife thanked the benefactors for thinking towards humanity and for providing solutions to economic sustainability of poor homes.
Mrs Soludo underscored the importance of the empowerment, stating that its long-term impacts will take so many homes out of poverty, and boost the economic sustainability index of the local government and the state in general.
