# Health Care Equipment and Allied Products Providers Association of Nigeria, Onitsha zone has been inaugurated in Awka with Chief Damian Onyekachi as the chairman of a six-man interim management team of the association.

Other members of the team include Mr Oliver Ugwu-Coordinator, Dr. Ibe Ibe -Ugbu -secretary, Mr Ahubaraezeama Obidigbo -Public Relations Officer, Dr.Humfrey Obiefule and Dr.IG Ekenechukwu members.

Inaugurating the zone, the National President of the Association, Dr. Ifeanyi Nwankwo who announced that the team will pilot the affairs of the association for one year, charged them to admit only credible persons into the association as HEPAN has zero tolerance for unethical behaviour and to take good care of the welfare of members in times of need like sickness, disaster, and social events among others.

In his acceptance speech, the chairman of HEPAN Onitsha zone, Chief Onyekachi, assured that they will work with relevant bodies to end importation of substandard medical equipment into Anambra and other states in the South East which he said could cause error in diagnosis.

# Thousands of native doctor’s in Anambra State have thrown their weight behind Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.

The association during a meeting held in Awka, unanimously supports Soludo’s second term bid, commending his numerous legacies, achievements and opportunities given to them.

They maintained that Soludo is not against traditional institution, custom and tradition and their rights, and that Anambra State House of Assembly has passed a bill that separated them from evil and criminal practices.

The lawmaker representing Ekwusigo constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Ikenna Ofordeme in his address reminded the native doctor’s that they have to protect the tradition culture and customs of Ndi Igbo as their belief and mode of worship. He stated that Governor Chukwuma Soludo is open to accept everybody as he is working for the interest of Anambra and never for once worked against the traditions and culture of ndi Igbo.

# The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the release of the abducted NDLEA Anambra State Director, Mr. Daniel Onyishi.

The victim was abducted on 12th June 2025 along Winner Road, Awka. He is currently in safe custody and receiving medical attention.

The Police, in collaboration with sister Agencies, especially the high-powered covert Operatives of the NDLEA led by Mrs Florence Ezeonye, the Zone 12 Commander of the NDLEA, complemented the aggressive rescue efforts which helped the victim’s safe return.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu has briefed the Police High Command on the development and activated the IGP’s directive to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book.

# The Bishop diocese of Amichi, Rt.
Rev. Ephraim Ikeakor has called on the church to be Bible-based, Spiritually dynamic, United and Committed to pragmatic Evangelism.

Bishop Ikeakor who made the call while presenting his presidential address to the Second Session of the Sixth Synod of the diocese at Immanuel Anglican church Akwaihedi, noted that the recent developments in the Spirituality, evangelical dynamism, and discipleship intentionality of the church calls not only for sober reflection, re-evangelization of Church members, but also for urgent steps to rescue, revive and restore the core essence and values of the true Church for which the Lord Jesus Christ suffered, and died for.

The Amichi Diocesan Bishop appreciated and congratulated the Governor of Anambra sate, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for the great work he is doing in the State, the aggressive and massive infrastructural developments going on in almost every part of the State simultaneously, giving Anambra State a befitting Government House after thirty-four years of existence as a State, the strong road network in all nooks and crannies of the state, noting that the fun city at Awka is another joy trigger in the State but the most important and outstanding achievements

are the conscious consistent war against idol worship, and insecurity in Anambra State and his war against wealth without work is a serious game changer among youths in the State.

# Anambra State Police Command has reiterated the importance of community participation in maintaining security and preventing crimes.

The State Police Command urges residents not to be discouraged, but to remain vigilant and cooperative with the security agencies in exposing unrepentant criminals in the State.

“Residents can play a crucial role in helping the Police to maintain law and order, prevent crimes, and ensure public safety.

“The Joint Security Team have stepped up surveillance and patrols to deter crime and maintain order.

# The Anambra and Delta State Commands of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have agreed to intensify operational modalities to protect critical national, state and local government assets as well as the lives of citizens within the two states.

The synergy was reached recently when Commandant Maku Olatunde, the NSCDC Anambra State Commandant played host to his Delta State counterpart, Commandant Mathew Ovye at the NSCDC Anambra State Command Headquarters Awka.

The State Commandants condemned the rate of vandalism of assets and infrastructure saying proactive measures must be taken to tackle the menace. They agreed to hold regular meetings, share intelligence, conduct joint operations and partner in other critical operational areas to stop crimes and criminalities in line with Commandant General’s directive of keeping economic saboteurs, vandals, unpatriotic citizens and miscreants at bay.

The host, Commandant Maku emphasised that the collaborative effort between the two commands would be robust and proactive, stressing that they must work together to combat crimes and criminality without seeking individual glory or credit.

# The Mayor of Njikoka LGA, Barr. Chinedu Ononiba, has commended Hon. Jude Akpua for the successful commissioning and installation of a 500kVA transformer in Abba community.

The Mayor described the project as a clear example of the dividends of democracy and applauded Hon. Akpua’s dedication to improving the lives of his constituents through meaningful infrastructure.

Barr. Ononiba urged the people of Abba to take ownership of the facility and ensure its protection, noting that such projects serve the collective interest of the community. He reaffirmed the local government’s support for all initiatives that promote development, unity, and progress in Njikoka.

# The Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, for the November 8 Governorship Election in Anambra State, Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu, has pledged to end the lingering communal conflicts ravaging Ayamelum Local Government Area of the State if he wins the election.

Prince Ukachukwu made the pledge on at Anaku, the Headquarters of the LGA, during an event organized by an illustrious son of the community, Chief Nobert Ikechukwu Nebife, in his honour.

Ukachukwu, who told the people of Anaku that he came to appreciate them and the entire Ayamelum People for supporting his candidacy, attributed the cause of the lingering communal conflicts to lack of clear boundary demarcations between communities in the area.

# A philanthropist, Amb. Chijioke Okolo has through his organization ‘Ike Uke Foundation’, has sponsored free medical care to over 300 persons in Uke Community in Idemili North local Government Area of Anambra state.

The free medical outreach was held at St Dominic Catholic Church field, Uke.

The beneficiaries comprising Children, youths, adults, and aged received free eye treatment and medicated eyes glasses while others receive other general medical treatments.

The public Relation officer of the foundation, Mr Smart Ekeze, said the founder and president of the foundation who is also an ambassador of advocates for Global peace forum international, a united nations certified civil society support organization, Amb.Okolo is a passionate individual who cherishes the well-being of members of his community and has improved their lives through different Philanthropic programmes in health, Education, and empowering the widows annually.
