* The member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency receives a delegation of NYSC members from Anambra State, serving at Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, led by Chris Onwa Mmaju, on a courtesy visit, at his office in the National Assembly to celebrate his birthday.
Speaking at the event, the Corpers expressed deep appreciation for Hon. Aniekwe’s commitment to the welfare of students and youths from Anambra State and his constituents at large.
Also, they commended Hon. Aniekwe for his educational interventions, ranging from the scholarship programs benefiting many students and the intervention support to male and female hostel students of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam. They described him as a man of many triumphs whose impact cannot be overstated.

* The traditional ruler of Nimo Community in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, His Royal Highness, Igwe Maximus Ike Oliobi, says the town has been taken over by criminal elements and has called on security agencies to save the town.
Addressing newsmen in his palace on Sunday, Igwe Oliobi said a few criminally minded youths being sponsored by mischievous elements with selfish interests in the town had been holding the town hostage, causing chaos.
The monarch spoke shortly after the youths forcefully shut down the town’s market, Saturday, in protest over the death of a youth, days after his release from police custody over an offence.
* As the Anambra State governorship election draws near, Hon. Jude Umennajiego, a lawyer and gubernatorial candidate on the platform of a factional Labour Party (LP), has declared that he is the chosen candidate who will be elected Governor of Anambra State by November 8, 2025.
Currently a lawmaker representing Onitsha South two Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Umennajiego expressed confidence in his victory despite the internal crisis within the Labour Party.
Speaking with newsmen in Onitsha, he likened himself to the biblical figure of David, drawing parallels between his situation and David’s anointment as king of Israel.
* Anambra State Government has imposed a one-month sanction on Blossom Fount School for allegedly asking their pupils aspiring to become the Head Prefect in primary section to purchase the form for N5,000.
The State Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, who revealed this, added that investigation has been launched into the school’s broader management practices.
According to her, the practice is a deeply troubling attempt to commercialize student leadership and exploit children’s ambitions for financial gain.
She described the act as amounting to “selling the psyche of the children to the highest bidder from the cradle.”
Chuma-Udeh strongly condemned the act and reiterated that such conduct is not tolerated under the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, which is committed to upholding integrity and fairness within the education system.
* The Commissioner for Environment, Anambra State, Engr Felix Odimegwu says
conducting risk management analysis, reporting and documenting plays a crucial role in environmental sustainability
Dr. Odimegwu made the statement when the ministry embarked on a two day environmental street check in government facilities in Anambra state.
Places visited includes: Chinua Achebe International airport, Solution Fun City, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, New Government House, Alex Ekwueme Square among others
Speaking to the management of various government facilities visited, the Commissioner stated that conducting environmental audits, managing waste and emissions, implementing environmental policies, laws, regulations and standards, conducting training and awareness sessions are vital.
Odimegwu expressed that the Soludo-led administration has invested so much in those facilities and it’s maintenance and that with proper Compliance, all the facilities will be sustainable.
He opined that the government facility check series aim was to promote a clean, green and sustainable properties of Ndi Anambra.
Responding, the management of the different government facilities pledged to uphold the environmental stewardship by compling with all environment laws that will keep the facilities sustained, noting that the goal was to build a liveable homeland where we all can work and enjoy life
* A significant meeting took place at Hon. Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo’s residence in Enugwu-ukwu, where Mayors and APGA Local Government Chairmen from Anambra Central convened to strategize for the forthcoming gubernatorial election set for November 8, 2025, and to discuss Anambra’s development.
Participants expressed strong support for Prof. Soludo, highlighting his leadership as essential for sustaining Anambra’s progressive trajectory. Hon. Rome Ibekwe noted that Anaocha, in particular, is expected to strongly support Prof. Soludo, as it remains a stronghold for APGA.
The general agreement was evident: Prof. Soludo’s progressive agenda will persist in Anambra, and the electorate is eager to rally behind him for a brighter future.
* The Association of Enugu State indigenes in Anambra State has held her maiden election and elected new Officials.
The election which goes free and fair new set of excos brought on board members from all the 17 LGAs of the State who will pilot the affairs of the Association for the next four years.
* The Nimo Town Development Union (NTDU) Awka Branch has honoured the Local Government Chairman of Njikoka, Barr. Chinedu Ononiba with an Award of Excellence.
Chairman, NTDU Awka Branch, Prof. Ejike Ajaegwu in his address at the event held at the newly constructed Nimo hall in Ifite-Awka, appreciated the Mayor for his selfless services to the union and his benevolent contributions to the NTDU even before he assumed office.
The Leader of the Njikoka Legislative Council, Hon. Obinna Okafor, and all the Njikoka Councillors were also present to show their support for the Mayor. Barr. Ononiba, accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Pamela Ononiba, expressed gratitude for the award and stated that it would motivate him to continue serving humanity and contributing to restoring the dignity of man to the growth and development of Nimo and beyond.
* The Mayor of Dunukofia LGA, Barr. Chijioke Ozumba has encouraged synergy from the stakeholders, illustrious sons and daughters of the Local Government Area mostly in the areas of community and youth development, especially in assisting the youths who have on their own acquired skills cum handworks, yet they still remain idle at home or while away valuable time in the streets due to lack of equipment or fund to kick off a business in their chosen fields.
The Mayor made this call while receiving the Founder of Ichie Akubudike Foundation, Chief Jim Martins Nwabueze, his wife and members of the foundation in his office.
He lauded the many philanthropic gestures of Ichie Akubudike in the areas of youth building, community growth and others in Umudioka community.
