* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has commissioned Manari Osonwa Primary Health Center built and handed over to Anambra state government by a son of the late Mrs Manari Osonwa, Mr Onuorah Osonwa of Obunagu, Amikwo, Awka, Awka South Local Government Area.
Commissioning the Health center during the event where fifteen graduands of computer training, trained by Managing Director Anambra state ICT, Mr Fred Agbata, under Manari Osonwa foundation, were given a laptop each also donated by Mr Onuorah Osonwa, Governor Soludo represented by the Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike said that Anambra state government has taken over the health center and has posted qualified personnel to the facility to ensure that the people of Obunagu have access to quality health services, announcing that the facility will be providing free antenatal and delivery services and is also insured under ASHIA.
The Deputy Chief of staff and Chief Protocol to the Governor sir Chinedu who is also the convener Soludo Support Group, SSG appreciated the gesture by the benefactor who is the patron , SSG, noted that the facility is what the governor wants for Ndi Anambra and meets the international standard even as he said that state government has installed telemedicine in the facility to aid twenty four hours health services by experts.
Speaking, the state APGA chairman , Chief Obiokoye noted that the gesture is inline with the ideals of the party and inline with the blue print of the governor in touching lives positively, adding that apart from providing road infrastructure, bridges among others, moves like that touches the people directly especially since the governor does not play with women and children.
* The Los Angeles Chapter of Awka Union Of USA and Canada, has handed over a renovated laboratory block at Girls Secondary School, Amaenyi, Awka.
The handover ceremony which took place in the school premises saw students, teachers and management of the school jubilate after the science laboratory, Science teachers office, stores and rest rooms were commissioned.
Commissioning the building, the Chairman, Post Primary School Service Commission, Prof. Nkechi Ikediegwu while lauding the initiative, said the laboratories would help in the educational advancement of the students as it will give the required boost in improving the quality of education.
According to the PPSSC boss, the gesture is in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s call on Public, Private, Community Partnership model for the development the state.
* Sir Paul Chukwuma, the candidate of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, in the November 8, 2025, Anambra State Governorship election, has said that Anambra State workers deserve better than they currently have with the Soludo administration.
Congratulating Anambra Workers’ on this year’s Workers’ Day, Sir Paul Chukwuma regretted that Anambra State workers are poorly remunerated to the extent that they are one of the lowest paid in Nigeria.
Chukwuma who also lamented that industrial dispute had become a major defining feature of the relationship between the current Anambra Government and workers in the legislative and executive arms of the State Government said he would prioritize workers’ welfare and put an end to all labour disputes which the current administration has refused to address.
Also, the YPP candidate lamented that Anambra State workers do not have any housing scheme that will help them have a house of their own. This situation, he said, was a shame.
* Anambra State government has raided and sealed a factory allegedly producing counterfeit disinfectants in Obosi.
Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA, Brigade during the raid, officers discovered a stock of unregistered chemicals, packaging materials, and products being packaged for sale without license and NAFDAC numbers to unsuspecting consumers.
The Managing Director of OCHA Brigade, Comrade Celestine Anere while speaking to newsmen, revealed that the operation uncovered thousands of counterfeited disinfectants in liquid form and medicated and antiseptic soaps, including popular brands which are harmful to the body and health, warning that the state government has zero tolerance for illegality of all kinds.
Some of the tenants interviewed in the compound said the producer, who is their neighbour, hardly associates with anyone and hides all the practices from them.
* The Anambra State Police Command has continued to demonstrate its commitment to ensuring public safety and nipping to the bud all forms of criminal activities in the State.
Police operatives attached to Otolo – Nnewi arrested two suspects and recovered one foreign made pistol, three live ammunitions and a lady’s motorcycle suspected to have been stolen.
The suspects: Ani Obinna aged 21 years old and Okwudili Ezike aged 43 years old all males were arrested during a hot chase by the Police Operatives acting on credible information which led to the busting of a criminal hideout in Nnewi.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to being members of a secret cult and a kidnapping gang. They also gave useful information which the Operatives are currently working on aimed at dislodging their criminal network and arresting of other gang members.
To this end, the Command has sustained security patrol in the area and is more committed to fostering a secure environment for meaningful work and businesses to thrive in the State.

* The Chairman, Nigerian Environmental Society (NES), Anambra Chapter, Dr. Emman Ude Akpeh, has called on the state government and citizens to initiate necessary adaptation measures to tackle the realities of a changing climate.
Dr. Ude Akpeh made the call in his message for the month themed, “Biodiversity Restoration and Climate Resilience,” also urged government and citizens of Anambra State to take actions to protect the threatened ecosystems.
According to him, Anambra’s rich biodiversity – from the Niger River basin to its forests and wetlands faces threats from deforestation, pollution, and unsustainable land use.
* Following a recent resolution passed by the Anambra State House of Assembly in response to the petition filed by the Anambra Tricycle Riders Association, ANTRA, against persistent issue of multiple taxation and extortion by individuals posing as government agents, the association has pledged total support to Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
The resolution followed a detailed review by the House Committee on Public Petitions which looked into the complaints presented by ANTRA regarding the activities of illegal revenue collectors across the state; who claim to be acting on behalf of the government.
In its resolution, the House declared that the state government does not recognize any form of touting, and any person or group collecting levies in the name of the government without proper authorization is acting unlawfully.
Following the resolution, ANTRA Chairman, Comrade Chidozie Okafor, expressed appreciation to the state legislature for what he described as a “rescue mission” for tricycle operators in the state.
* The new Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone 13 Ukpo, AIG Oladapo Abayomi has received in audience the State Director of Security (SDS) for the Department of State Services (DSS), Anambra State, Mr Victor Akeh in a bid to establish a sustainable and formalised working relationship and enhance continued working harmony between the Service and the Zonal Police Command.
During the meeting, the DSS Director stated that the visit seeks to appreciate the effort and cooperation of the Nigeria Police with the State Services, especially the Zone13 Zonal Command to further strengthen the synergy and cooperation so far established between the Formations.
The Director noted that before this period, there had been a lot of cooperation between the DSS and the Zone, hence the need to strengthen cooperations and work in harmony for the overall good of the two establishments.
Recieving the guests, AIG Abayomi expressed delight for the visit and assured him of having him as a friend and brother in the Zone and, in extension, the Nigeria Police Force.
* The Anambra State born billionaire, Prince Engr. Arthur Ikpechukwu Eze (FNSE) has donated high capacity fire fighting truck and cash of Ten Million Naira (₦10,000,000) to Ogbaru Main Market, near Onitsha, Anambra State.
Engineer Eze made the donation during the high power delegation from Ogbaru Main Market led by the President general of the Market, Chief Ndubuisi Ochiogu paid him courtesy visit in his Abuja residence.
Speaking shortly after making the donation, Prince Arthur Eze emphasized the need of security of the Market, urging the leadership of Ogbaru Main Market to pay more attention to security and insurances of traders wares in the Market.
* The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Anambra State, have honoured the governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo, with an award for leading a compassionate and life-changing movement with her non-governmental crusade, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative.
The award was presented to Mrs. Soludo at a “One Day Health and Economic Awareness Workshop” in commemoration of 2025 International Workers’ Day in Awka.
Anambra NLC chairman, Comrade Humphrey Nwafor, while presenting the award noted that Mrs Soludo through her crusade, has ignited a growing consciousness among thousands of people in Anambra State about their health and the need to guide it closely.
Nwafor stated that Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo has become a household culture across every part of the state, pointing that since the programme was introduced, it has made a great impact on the health index of Anambra’s population.
Receiving the award on behalf of the governor’s wife, the Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike, explained that Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo has been able to bridge the gap between health consciousness and understanding simple conventional steps to living right.
