# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has celebrated the Aguata Anglican Diocese on the twentieth anniversary of it’s creation.
Soludo joined the Diocese in a Thanksgiving Service held at At John’s Cathedral, Ekwulọbịa.
According to the Governor who emphasized that christianity is endangered, the church should ask themselves the vital question why some people are leaving the church to indulge in other practices, which the church preaches against.
Soludo went ahead to reiterate that the era of graduation from nursery school in Anambra schools, writing of assignments within textbooks, which makes it impossible for other people to use the books, is over in the state.
# The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, has donated ₦10 million to the Aguata Anglican Diocese, in Anambra State, to support the acquisition and revitalisation of the Good Hope Specialist Hospital in Isulo, strategically located along the well-known Basden Road.
Presenting the cheque of ₦10 million, on Friday, Mr. Obi expressed profound joy at contributing to a project that will enhance access to quality healthcare for the people.
The former governor of Anambra State noted that his decision to support the Diocese was motivated by his personal conviction that investing in healthcare is one of the most meaningful ways to uplift society.

(Osodieme) has paid 12-month health insurance premiums, for 100 persons living with a Sickle Cell Disorder (SCD)
The event which was held on Saturday September 6th 2025 at the Sickle Cell Orphanage and Underprivileged Home, Agulu, had many beneficiaries in attendance from Onitsha, Awka, Aguata and Nnewi zones and were registered into Anambra State Health Insurance (ASHIA).
Speaking during the event, National Coordinator, Association of Persons Living with Sickle Cell Disorder, and Director, Sickle Cell Orphanage and Underprivileged Home, Agulu, Mrs. Aisha Edwards Maduagwu thanked Mrs. Obiano for giving them an opportunity to live a healthy and improved life.
Mrs. Maduagwu while commending the former first lady for her commitment in improving the lives of persons living with sickle cell disorder. She called for implementation of the
sickle cell law which was passed in to law by the Anambra State House of Assembly when Chief Willie Obiano was Governor.
# The staff of the Faculty of Technology and Vocational Education (TVE), Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, paid a condolence visit to their colleague, Mr. Ikechukwu Odogwu, during the burial of his father, Late Chief Samuel Agunwa Odogwu, at Umudiogo Village, Amagu Amanuke, Awka North Local Government Area, Anambra State.
The delegation was led by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Comfort Chimezie Okolocha, alongside other distinguished professors, including Prof. Reko Okoye, Prof. Constance Okoli, Prof. Francisca Nnajiofor, and Prof. Mary Noeleen Obi, who also serves as Head of the Department of Agricultural Education.
Speaking on behalf of the faculty, Prof. Okolocha commiserated with the Odogwu family, urging them to remain steadfast in their faith and trust in God. She prayed for the peaceful repose of the late patriarch’s soul.
In his response, Mr. Odogwu expressed gratitude to his colleagues for their show of solidarity, noting that their presence and support brought comfort to him and his family during the period of grief.
# The Chairman of the Aguata Diocesan Hospital Board and Archdeacon of Ezira Archdeaconry, Dr. Kamtochukwu Obi has expressed deep gratitude to Mr. Peter Obi for his continued commitment to projects that uplift humanity.
Dr. Obi In his speech while leading the former governor of Anambra State on a tour of the facilities, assured that the Diocese would not only put the facility to optimal use but also ensure that it becomes a centre of excellence for healthcare delivery “for the benefit of humanity and to the greater glory of God.”
Dr. Obi further revealed that the access road to the facility was originally constructed during Mr. Obi’s tenure as Governor, underscoring his long-standing commitment to infrastructural and social development in the region.
Looking ahead, Dr. Obi announced that the Diocese plans to transform the Good Hope Specialist Hospital into a comprehensive health complex.

100 persons living with a Sickle Cell Disorder into Anambra State Health Insurance, sponsored by Wife of the former Governor of Anambra State, Chief (Mrs) Ebelechukwu Obiano
(Osodieme) said the insurance cost 1,500 for each person,
She commended Mrs. Obiano for spending 1.2 millions for the registration for the persons living with sickle cell.
“The crowd is more than the persons paid for, and its a medium for us to also encourage and employ other philanthropist to imitate the kind gesture of the former First lady of Anambra State by paying for those who cannot avoid to register.
” In Anambra, more than 250,000 persons have registered”. She remarked.
# The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Anambra State Council, Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, PhD, on Friday September 5th 2025 buried his father Late Chief Samuel Agunwa Odogwu, who died at 86 age.
During the funeral service held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church Amanuke in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State in honour of the deceased, the Archdeacon of Urum Archdeaconry, Venerable Dr Reuben Okafor, reminded all that when the book of life is opened, all shall be judged by what has been recorded for each person.
Dr. Okafor commended the Odogwu family for celebrating their father while he was alive, describing the deceased as a man of discipline and integrity.
Addressing all who joined in bidding their farewell on the journey to eternity, Dr Odogwu, who paid glowing tribute to their father, expressed fulfillment that his father was celebrated alive at the age of 80 as he wished.
# Prof. Chinyere Stella Okunna has described the 10 million naira donation by Mr. Peter Obi to the Aguata Anglican Diocese, in Anambra State, as an initiative with a bold and visionary step towards addressing the nation’s healthcare challenges.
Okunna who accompanied the former governor of Anambra State to the visit,
commended both Obi and the Diocese for their dedication to projects that directly impact the lives of ordinary Nigerians, stressing that healthcare is one of the most critical investments any society can make.
