Troost‑Ekong Vows He’ll Never Overstay in Super Eagles

Super Eagles captain William Troost‑Ekong has reassured fans that he remains committed to Nigeria’s national team, but will not outstay his welcome.

In a recent interview, the 31-year-old centre-back emphasized that he still feels physically and mentally fit to perform at the highest level. He stated, “I still feel like I have something to offer the team,” adding that he will be the first to step aside when the time is right .

Troost‑Ekong, who made his debut in 2015 and has since earned 79 caps, insists that any decision about his future will be mutual and based on his own readiness and the coaching staff’s assessment. “I’ll never overstay my welcome. But right now, that’s not crucial to my mind,” he said .
