UEFA Champions League Results And Table After Barcelona Qualified And Liverpool Lost Out On Tuesday

The return leg matches of the Champions League Round of 16 games started across Europe on Tuesday. Only the better sides have been able to make it to the Quarter finals shortly after their crunch ties.
Barcelona returned against Benfica with a game plan that helped them gain access to the quarter finals on Tuesday. The Spanish side opened scoring in the 11th minute from Raphinha’s strike to put Hosts in the lead but Otamendi leveled for the Visitors just 2 minutes after to make it 1-1. Lamine Yamal doubled Barca’s lead in the 27th minute to put the Spanish side back in the lead after being assisted by Raphinha. Just at the stroke of halftime, Raphinha sealed the half with another goal to make it 3-1 at the interval. The second half was going to be Barca’s half but unfortunately for Frank De Jong, he wasted his chance to give Barcelona another goal at close range. Barcelona Won 3-1, 4-1 on aggregate.
Liverpool’s confidence at Anfield was breached about 12 minutes into play when PSG’s Ousmane Dembele opened scoring for visiting Parisians. It was unbelievable how Paris Saint Germain Players came all out with determination and concentration. With Szoboszlai’s effort ruled out for offside and Quansah hitting the cross bar, Liverpool further failed to make any difference. The game ended 0-1 and 1-1 on aggregate as PSG forced an extra time on Hosts Liverpool. Result remained same until PSG changed the game after Penalty Shootout that made PSG’s Goalie Donnarumma the Hero of the Day after saving Darwin Nunes and Curtis Jones’ Penalty kicks to give PSG the Quarter finals ticket with a 4-1 win on penalties.
Bayern Munich are also through to the next round after their away win over Leverkusen on Tuesday. Barcelona will now face the winner between Lille and Dortmund while Liverpool will face Newcastle for their Carabao Cup Final after their defeat at Anfield.
