Ukraine Unveils New “Sapsan” Ballistic Missile, Claims It’s ‘Impossible to Intercept’

Ukraine has officially introduced its latest high-precision long-range ballistic missile, Sapsan, positioning it as a potential game-changer on the modern battlefield. Ukrainian defense officials say the domestically developed system is capable of reaching deep into enemy territory while remaining undetectable and impossible to intercept by conventional air defense systems.

Dubbed “Sapsan,” or “Peregrine Falcon,” the missile boasts a striking range of up to 500 kilometers and has been engineered for high maneuverability, rapid deployment, and minimal radar visibility. The Ukrainian military touts it as part of its growing suite of strategic weapons to counter Russian advances and fortify national defense.

“We have developed a weapon that embodies Ukrainian ingenuity. It will surprise our enemies and protect our sovereignty,” said a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

Military experts interviewed by Euromaidan Press echo the government’s claims, suggesting that Sapsan’s advanced targeting, stealth capabilities, and potential for mid-flight trajectory shifts render it extremely difficult—if not impossible—for existing air defense systems to neutralize.

Defense analysts are already drawing comparisons between Sapsan and some of the most sophisticated Western ballistic systems. However, its exact specifications remain classified. Sources confirm that it has already undergone successful testing and may soon be deployed at the front lines.

The announcement comes amid escalating tensions in eastern Ukraine, with Kyiv intensifying its push for defense modernization and NATO interoperability.
