VIDEO: Moment Erika Kirk Forgives Husband’s Killer at Memorial Service

Erika Kirk, widow of slain Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, delivered an emotional speech at his memorial service on Sunday, declaring she forgives the young man accused of killing her husband.
Diaspora Digital Media reported that Kirk, 31, was assassinated on September 10, 2025, during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
He was shot in the neck from a rooftop about 200 yards away while speaking to students. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he did not survive.
Authorities later arrested Tyler James Robinson, a 22-year-old from Washington, Utah.
Investigators say he used a bolt-action Mauser rifle gifted to him by family.
Prosecutors have filed multiple charges, including aggravated murder and witness tampering, and are seeking the death penalty.
Robinson was identified after his parents recognized him in circulated FBI photos.
At a packed memorial service in Glendale, Arizona, Erika Kirk addressed thousands, including President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and other conservative leaders.
Quoting scripture and sharing personal memories, she said her husband died fulfilling his mission.
“Our Savior said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.’ That young man … I forgive him,” she told the audience, her voice breaking. “I forgive him because it was what Christ did, and it’s what Charlie would do.”
Erika recounted the painful moment she saw her husband’s body at the hospital. “I looked directly at my husband’s murdered body. I saw the wound that ended his life. I felt shock, horror, and heartbreak … but I also saw the faintest smile on his lips. It told me Charlie didn’t suffer. Even the doctor said it was so instant, nothing could have been done.”
She also opened up about their marriage, revealing how Charlie wrote her a love note every Saturday, no matter where his travels took him.
Each one ended with the same line: “Please let me know how I can better serve you as a husband.”
The widow described Kirk as a man who gave “100% every single day,” leaving Earth “with incomplete work, but not unfinished business.”
In her closing words, Erika announced she would take over as CEO of Turning Point USA, vowing to expand her husband’s vision. “Charlie’s mission is now my mission.
Everything he built, we will make ten times greater through the power of his memory.
No assassin will ever stop us from standing up to defend freedom.”
Kirk’s death has ignited nationwide debates over political violence, free speech, and campus security.
For Erika, however, her message was clear: faith, forgiveness, and carrying forward the mission her husband started.
