Wayne Rooney has sparked after about naming Harry Kane as England’s greatest-ever player
Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has named Tottenham star Harry Kane as England’s greatest-ever player.

What Rooney said
Rooney, who is Manchester United’s all-time top goalscorer, made this statement during an appearance on The Overlap podcast.
“I think he’s incredible. The goals he’s scored, assists. Now he’s added leadership over the last few years as well. For me, I’d probably say he’s England’s greatest ever player,” Rooney said of Kane.
Rooney’s praise for Kane was effusive, highlighting the Tottenham striker’s professionalism and consistency.
He said, “With Harry, there’s never an issue. You see that he’s ultra-professional and never misses a game.”
Kane, who is England’s all-time top scorer with 69 goals in 103 appearances, has had an illustrious career with both Tottenham and the national team.
Rooney’s comment will spark debate among football fans, but it’s hard to argue with Kane’s impressive track record.
